Oh, Nola - I'm so sorry this happened. It's hard to lose one, especially when you've been wanting it and waiting for it for so long! Hang in there....

Oh nola I am so sorry dear..I do so know the feeling. Give lots of hugs to Flashy for me. I wish I was closer to give you a big hug myself. It is good to know so you can move forward but a bummer to hear these results. I am glad she will stay with your family and be your trail horse. I guess now you get to concentrate on riding Stormy, when it is cool enough.

I'm sorry to hear about this Nola! Although I must say I was beginning to wonder. I have heard about so many false pregnancies this year...seems an unusually high percentage. I know a lady who is helping out with 2 mares believed to be carrying mules that I'm also wondering if this is also happening to them.
Give Flashy a hug and enjoy riding her again.

well all is well here with me, as far as a vet in my horse's life that will be, but I still am not sure checking out a horse that stress out so bad she is trembling, I will not have again. I really feel that is what made her absorb her baby, and had I known I would not have had her checked. thank you all for the kind words..

So did your vet tranquilize her before checking her?

no we didn't (Jim and I) realize she was this bad. when it was first done when we found out she was pregnant. when we had her checked on Friday she was rearing up, trembling no we did not sedate her, as a matter of fact it was never suggested to us, now should she for some reason has to be vet checked yes she will be sedated. I wish you all could have seen this, words can not express what I saw, I hope to never have to go through this again with any horse.

Nola Sorry to hear this. It is hard to lose one you want so bad. Don't get down on yourself you can do it by the book and more, but mother nature has the last word. George
