I am posting this message here for Skybar ****************************************************
If anyone remembers, the BLM gathered 17 yo gray Kiger last October for the adoption. He was dubbed "Big Gray". At the adoption, he was passed over by the bidders at the adoption for various reasons. Some were wary of his age, some were wary of his color; some just probably didn't know what they were looking at.
Well, it's a shame he was gathered in the first place, he had a lot to offer the herds, but since he was gathered he had two choices, be adopted or go into a long term holding pen. I am proud to announce he has found a home in Western Pennsylvania on my farm.
His name is now Argo which means "Faithful and Brave".
He is a sight to behold. He is powerful, but not arrogant. He is quiet and extremely intelligent. His eyes are alive and inquisitive. Just standing a mere 10 feet away from him with a panel between us, I am aware that he is much smarter than me.
He has survived in the wild 17 years, he has seen things I could not possibly imagine, but yet he is curious about me and my family. You can see he wants to maybe come close, to "size me up" so to speak.
So, for day 2 of my living with Argo, I will take a chair and a favorite book out to the pen, and just be near him.
I will try to keep you all posted to our progress

MustangsInNC; There is another kiger mustang message board, and IMO there is a lot of hate on that board. It was so nice of Michelle to start this one. Believe me you'll be a lot happier here. Lisa

Michelle & MustangsInNC - here's the link for the othr Kiger board forum1.aimoo.com/The_Kiger_Board/General-Discussion-1-26203 You really should go there yourselves and read about Big Grey, Argo. There is a beautiful video posted of him. Lisa, I'm not sure why you say there's alot of hate on that board. There has been some disagreement which is normal in cyberspace but there's also so neat things like Argo. There's even a post with some really nice pictures of some ladies and there Kigers at an expo with John Lyons. I wouldn't say that the board has alot of hate on it but JMO.
I still go there once in a while, and lisa is correct. but again as you said jmo. I have been going there for over 2 years now. but I prefer it here where people are polite, and answer your questions, and I feel are friends. nola
I second (and THIRD) what you said....I get tired of the same old BS there (I've been on that board for at least 5 yrs) I prefer it here as well....Haven't posted over there in quite a while....So a big thanks to Michelle for starting up this board....and all the civil people here!
went to the board so I could see the video, and it was so good, he looks so good. am thankful he found a home, but I agree he never should have been captured, he should have been left there. but he was, and now it seems he is in wonderful hands. nola

Sense he was captured, at least he will be in place where he has no worries. I do hope it all works out very well for him and his new owner. I saw a very special horse with this guy, I was totally drawn to him at the adoption. Not just his color he was also the only horse to walk towards me when I clucked to him thru the fence.

Thank you for the kind words on his video. I enjoyed making it and was thrilled my daughter had got the video of him coming off the trailer. That clip just speaks volumes to his demeanor. He takes my breath away every time I look at him.
Tiffany,
Thanks again for the pictures, and no he will never have any worries. That was my goal, to give him a home to enjoy his years and never have to worry about anything. He is very special and has captured the hearts of many people.
Keep checking his blog for updates.
