Kara, My computer was down for repair and I just got to go to Argo's blog and videos for the first time. I cried, to see him well, cared for, in good spirits and adjusting to his fate with the pride, dignity and sensibility that is part of the Kiger character. I also cried because he is in just the right hands. I think I now understand why this magnificent, older stallion was gathered. I believe Argo has a new purpose in his golden years and he has been given just the right partner to accomplish it. You have been entrusted with a Kiger in it's pure form, a mature seasoned stallion with a lifetime of experience. You have lots of experience with horses, yet are new to Kigers and free of bias. You also have talent with words, photography and computers and a big open heart and willingness to share your profound experiences. This morning, as I read the blog stories chronicling the journey in which you and Argo have found yourselves coupled, and watched in wonder, the video of this amazing creature, I realized that the two of you have become ambassadors to the world bringing a new and fresh perspective as to what makes the Kiger so much more than just another pretty horse, and why they are so revered by their partners. Kara, you have the sensibility to understand the character of the Kiger, and to convey who the Kiger is, what makes the Kiger more than a horse of a different color, and why Kigers are so revered by those fortunate enough to share their lives with them. I felt blessed to share in your experience and will be a regular visitor to vicariously share in truly spiritual journey. I also think that this is a book in the making. Thank you! Linda D

Linda,
Thank you for your extremely kind words. It is going to be quite the journey for sure. I don't know about being an ambassador for the breed. LOL But it is very nice of you to say that. Quite the pick me up. There are very accomplished Kigers out there who have been fabulous horses to take into the public and show how tremendous these horses are. I know I could not do half the job they have done with publicity. The Horseman's Extravaganza help in Greensburg, PA this past April, was proof of that. There were 3 great Kiger Mares with 3 equally great owners.
Thank you again, and keep an eye on the blog.

Kara, I know the wonderful, talented ambassadors that you speak of and they have accomplished so much. I have had the privilege of being part of their support staff at KHP and Equine Affaire. They have impressed even the professionals! Their presentations have made me cry, too, they were so beautifully done. They indeed are shinning examples! You and Argo have an entirely different opportunity and potential audience than Melissa and Karen have. The blog and U Tube are formats that will allow others to vicariously share in an unfolding story as it happens. There are many venues and many means by which the Kigers are being shown to the world by a variety of talented people and horses. I enjoy and appreciate them all! Yours is just one unique opportunity from a different perspective that I find very appealing and you are well suited to it. I look forward to to sharing in your journey. Linda D

Kara, Once again let me say how pleased I am that you have this marvelous horse. Your instincts seem right on to me and it is enchanting to watch your progress. That you don't "show him who's boss" is particularly right in my mind, limited though my experience with wild ones is. I have one mare from the wild (seven years) who is still very much instinctual and every time I have lost patience it has been a set back. That she trusts me and comes to me for help now is a great compliment. But she is and always will be her own person. Its always ask and not make that works with her. I'm glad you listen to your own instincts and not the opinion of every Tom, thingy and Harry.

Karen and Melissa have done fantastic in their presentations and demos. They work together beautifully. Kara

Thought I would pop in and let everyone know I posted a new blog entry on Argo's blog. It was very difficult to write as tears kept coming as I would type.

This blog and its contents needs to be made into a book and published. It is truly a magnificent work of art!!
I, too, had the privilege for about a year and a half, of learning from an older 7 year old stallion from the wild, Kiger Compadre. I have since sold him to another breeder due to space, but the experiences that I learned from him will be remembered the rest of my life. Compadre will always dwell in a big spot in my heart and soul. It may sound corny, but it is a spiritual experience to be allowed into the space of one of these older learned stallions. I hope you can keep Argo as long as possible and continue blessing us and all Kiger Mustangs with your moving articles and updates about your special relationship with him.
