Chilli (Andalusian/Arab cross that we bred and raised) is due April 28 but usually foals 2-3 weeks early. Today is 320 days. Her milk is already skim milk colored but her udders go down quite a bit during the day while she is out. She is mis-er-a-ble. Poor big, fat Chilli!! She is also bred to Gringo. Just for fun yesterday, we measured her around her widest part. She is 15 hands tall and 25 hands around!! My goodness!

Yes, poor thing! This will be her last foal (this time I mean it!)...the last two times, I've worried that she could rip her abdominal wall and then be in big trouble. She just gets way too big, plus she is getting older and she has arab legs with that hippo body up top!

Chilli Chilli. Today is her usual two week early date. She is still a few days out - dang mare! Her milk is testing closer and her udders are not going down all the way during the days now. Trying to be patient on our first Gringo babies! Snacking on some new mesquite leaves this morning. Is there any room in there?!

Big dark palomino colt in there! She's saying "if you don't stop taking pictures of my belly I'm going to...well, can't move that fast, but you watch it!"

Haha...she looks cranky doesn't she!! I'd feel the same way if I were in her position! I keep reminding her that her last baby was supposed to be the last but she is the one who kept standing at the back fence, day and night when she was in heat, calling to the boys...

I swear that baby is gonna come out galloping anyday now. When I first felt her belly a month ago that baby was doing jumping jacks in there i cant imagine what it's doing in there now LOL.
