I had heard of Diego but not seen any pics of him since he was young! He sure is a looker!! Love both Riddle and Donner and of course Diego!! My mare is out of Steens Kiger and I do love his offspring!

Yep those Steens Kiger offspring have Steens stamp. Diego is gorgeous. I must take some new pics of Bolero when he sheds out. It is uncanny how much these two horses look alike. Bolero is by Kiger Sundance, Donner's half brother, and they sure have the same look.

yes they are beautiful. I actually considered redoing the cross between Dollie and Donner two years ago but decided against it for some reason. And since i wont be rebreeding her after this foal part of me is wishing I had. But maybe I can find a better cross later down the road... I am still waiting to see what this half Andi foal will look like, lol

Diego is very handsome for sure I am very anxious to see your Andi cross. I considered breeding Fantasy to an Andi' at one time, just couldn't find any I liked at the time near by. So I went a totally differant route and have a big ol' mule.

it took me about a year of research and searching for one near by to find one that I liked and could afford. I tried finding a Kiger as well but had no luck since Dollie is a gray-dun. I have no doubt that this is going to be an amazing foal, not as amazing as Super , but absolutely amazing none the less. I will be sad to see it go when it sells.

So close yet so far. Yesterday i could have sworn Dollie was getting relaxed enough and forming up so nicely that maybe we would have a foal by Monday. Well with a few added stresses today that literally had her trotting (looking more like a pacer) completely freeked out around her corral for 4 hours straight, and then still not calming down for another 5-6 hours (even though she is still nervous at least she has calmed down enough to eat), I am starting to think the foal wont come out until maybe next weekend or the following week. I hate things that are super stressful. I never would have thought that a mares bag could be nice and full and firm and then completely deflate like an old balloon :\

Not fun for you or Dollie, but when you think about it it's pretty cool that they can delay their birthing until things are totally quiet and no one is around.

Well DRAT! Dollie :/ I tell you when Fantasy was preganant with her first foal she dripped milk for a week had me so flustered I called the vet wondering if she was ever going to have the foal. He came out and said everything was fine and yes she was going to have the foal sometime. I will be darned if she did not have it that night after he left and I had to call him back the next day. It was her first and I was lucky enough to witness the birth but I wanted to be sure everything went smoothly ...of course the vet had a laugh coming right back out again.

that sounds like something Dollie would do... Wait for the vet to come out say "oh yeah sometime this week you should have a foal" and then drop it right after the office closes for the evening and weekend so it has to be considered an emergency call and cost more. Well she isnt dripping any milk yet but who knows if she even will. I ish i ould be there to witness the birth but im not allowed to camp out unless i know for sure she is going to have it, and then I have to stay in an office a little ways away and just go out and check on her every now and again until she is having it... so i would still most likely miss it I am in awe that she can delay the labor until everything has calmed down. I think it is a miricle of nature... i wish she would just pop it out but i understand the nature of things and how they must go

Dollie today. Her belly has dropped and she deffinately looks different from the front and back then she does from the side. If i didnt know better looking at her from behind, or head on, i would have sworn she was not pregnant. She has been working on the same 6 lbs of pellets that i gave her yesterday morning, and 1.5 lbs of A&M and one flake of nice bright green flowery alfalfa that i have her this morning.
