This is Dollie I thought I would share her with you all. She is about 2 weeks or so out from delevery. She is "Gray-Dun" (origionally classified as a claybank), 13 years old, and about 14.3-15hh. She is bred to an Andalusian, Black Bay, 6 years old, and about 16.1-2hh

I am sure hoping so, lol. I am thinking it will be a bay or a dun and for some reason a colt.

Thanks. The stallions name is Dejado Habano. He is super sweet and i thought he was rather calm for an Andi Stallion.

total side bar... does anyone elses kigers curl their tail like that when they get excited? I sware she can curl her tail all the way back and have it lay on her back. The more excited she gets the more that tail is curled.

My kiger cross gelding has actually carried his tail like that once when he was in an excitable state. I think most horses do it when there super exctited. But it when my horse did it,it was the first time for me seeing it in a mustang/cross.

Most horses can do it. My mare cannot and owners of Spanish type Sulphurs have reported that when their horses get excited they look more like when deers get excited! lol My mare will get a lot of lift under her when she is excited and roll her shoulders. The tail has never been vertical though. I am convinced (after never seeing her flag her tail of almost ten years of ownership) that this isn't a thing that she can do. I am also convinced that it is a breed trait (that the Spanish type Sulphurs cannot flag their tails).
I have seen photos of Mustangs (in general), Kigers, and Spanish Mustangs who flag their tails. My friend who owns Spanish Mustangs has horses who also curl their tails up just like what you are describing.
Please post pics when the foal gets here! I just had a dream last night that I missed my mare's delivery... ughh lol

Yes, my mare Fantasy does it as well, when she is happy running and bouncing (yep' she bounces like a deer) about the pasture she can toss it right up over her back as well as our Arabian. I need to always remember my camera to the barn to capture it she does it so rarely, she prefers to just lazily walk about.

barbhorses- I am almost positive the I will miss her foaling. I check her about every 2 hours durring the day and then right before I go to bed around 10, and then my husband checks her when he goes out to work in the morning around 5. She actually started to elongate this afternoon so I am hoping that she will have the foal soon. And I am a picture fanatic so there will be lots of pictures fo this little one when it does arive.
Fantasy- He tail has so many people thinking she is an arab, until they look at her front half (then they think Andi). And thank you for letting me know i am not the only one out there that has a horse that acts more like a kangaroo sometimes then a horse. Even last week she was bouncing and hopping and bucking, feeling way to good.
And chances are this foal will be for sale. Unless somethign happens to Dollie or if it has an absolutley amazing personality like the two year old I sold last year.

The more excited she gets the more that tail is curled. I've never personally seen nor owned a full Kiger that curls it's tail but not going to swear that it does or does not mean anything beyond an excited horse. Happy thoughts for a beautiful, healthy foal!

Bolero flagged his tail when he was 5-6 mos old. He was excited and showing off for our other horses. I don't recall seeing him do it since he was a baby.
