I get to go and visit King tomorrow, I talked to Jodie on the phone and we got along fantastic. I can't wait to meet both of them. I'm positive we will have a LOT to talk about and it will be wonderful to live near another Kiger person. Other people just don't understand sometimes.

Say hi to Jodi for me won't you? She and I talked a long time ago, probably eight years now. Ask her what happened to Chantilly would you please? She was a grulla filly out of Quail and Silverado that I loved.

Wow! There are some nice stallions out there. Glad this thread was started.
Kigerfan - you're so right, most people don't understand when we talk about how great they are until you've actually owned one (kiger that is). Once you've been bitten, there's no going back

I have to agree with the Kiger bug/addiction/affliction what ever the case may be. They are in a class of their own they are not just dun Mustangs.

I got to visit Jodie and her husband and their beautiful ranch. It was amazingly serene and they are both great people. We really enjoyed our time there and can't wait to visit again. Meeting King was fantastic, what a beautiful well built strong stud. He moved beautifully and was gentle and sweet. He was very responsive to her. The connection that Jodie has with her horses is very evident in all of them. Right now she has a beautiful little dunn gelding for sale. His name is Concho. If you're interested in him and want to see pictures email me at kigerfirefly@yahoo.com. She didn't want me taking pictures right now because all of them are in full fuzz and she's a proud mom, wanting her babies to show their best.
Concho is a very nice little gelding. I have forgotten his age, but he is youn and is under saddle. He was very attentive and loved being scratched. He really liked my husband!
Dianne, I said hi for you and she asked that I say hi back and tell everyone that she has just been extremely busy with everything going on in her life and will get in touch with people when her life slows down to a stage 5 tornado. She really is a very very kind sweet lady.
I can't wait to talk to her again.

Brian, I think I mentioned in another posting that we had three stallions. Glad to see you on here, were have you been? Do you know how many horses Manford has and if he still owns Wallowa Kiger? Lisa

Lisa, just been busy with the ranch, and hunting ;D I'm pretty sure he sold Wallowa to the McSwains in Texas quite a while back, not sure if they still have him, or if he's even still alive. Don't know offhand how many head he runs now- but its a bunch!

I remember being up in north eastern Oregon quite awhile back...a trip I will never forget! Driving up over this mountain range (city gal that I am!) on a two lane road (I use that word loosely!!), up the side of this switchback, which I belive was called Rattlesnake something or other, was quite an experience! We stayed in this little town which I think about 8 people lived year 'round - mostly mountain men. We stayed in a small hunting cabin and I was sure some backwoods mutant or bigfoot was going to crawl through the window at any time! Only phone was on the "main road" and there was no way in heck we were gonna venture out of that locked cabin until bright daylight!
I belive it was Troy, Oregon. Anyway, next day driving out of the west side down andother crazy road, I see a herd of dun/grullo I-know-darn-well-KIGERS much to my shock! Further up I see a man feeding some young yearlings, so I pulled over and met Manford. Quite an experience and we had such a nice chat about the horses.
They were a very nice group of horses.

This is Bolero's first ride just after his 3rd birthday and he was so calm and did great. I was thrilled. See that Sundance head. Linda D
