Hi everyone,

We have been kicking around a new idea and I wanted to see if there would be any interest. Our documentary will still require considerable work to complete - months really so in the meantime we thought about releasing about a 60 minute video of the Kigers on the HMAs. We have hours and hours of film and if there is an interest in seeing the Kigers wild and free we are considering a release of some of the footage. It would be taken from the past 5 years and will include a little of the 2011 gather as well as the 2007 and 2011 adoptions and Kiger Fest in McMinnville - was that 2008?

I am guessing the cost would be somewhere around $15.00 due to production costs and I still have to see how many we would have to sell to not lose our shirts. Does that seem a fair price? If not, what would you consider fair for 60 minutes of "eye candy"?

Weigh in if you like and if we don't see enough interest you all will have to wait till sometime late in 2013 I fear. Feel free to say yea or nay and why, with no worries about hurting my feelings. I can watch what we shoot over and over again and not be bored.

I love what you guys are doing! Maybe you should have a little "teaser" trailer to show (some) of the best moments? Basically just show the exciting moments of a herd running up a hill or a stallion confrontation. You don't need to have the context in there. Literally each shot could be a couple seconds long. It could be under 2 minutes long, but gives the potential buyer an idea of what is in the footage. I don't want to make more work for you guys, but I think it would be very helpful when releasing this to the public and drawing interest. That way you get the general public interested too instead of just the main kiger group. I think $15+- is reasonable as long as you can cover costs. If the first video is well received, you can always charge more for the second.

Not unreasonable at all - count me in. It's a great idea. I can also put a link up on my website to help promote it if you'd like. It gets up to 8,000 hits a month.

There is also a gal that has a horse shop that really promotes mustangs, she would probably be interested also...

Reasonable price and yes I would love to have one! Only way I will ever get to see the wild ones is most likely electronically.

I don't know Lee, we haven't seen many grulla stallions lately ;D.

I know the editor of the video so I will put in a good word with him.
He is already working on it and is starting to choose background music so once we woek out the details I will update this.

The name Blaze works Michelle and we have footage of him from 2011 and I think 2010 also. His dam always seemed to have at least two blaze faced foals near her. Stout isn't he?

We will update the release date for the video and give a date and process for ordering. We are still working on details. Thanks for posting the youtube link and Lee put a link of FB too. I was having problems.
