I saw a bay looking stallion in with VG in 2010. One of the grulla mares with a small star was hanging out with him.

We have the bay with either VG or VS also Dianne. I believe he is the one we called "Table for One" as the prevoius year he was stuck in an allotment by himself and hung out with the Roaring Springs cattle on the other side of the fence.
I like Chester (the molester) and Dreamer works for the Grulla. This year we started calling the one who hang on the fringe of the bands "Klingons" but in our defese after a few days out there we tend to get rather silly.
I think the grulla mare with the small white spot is one of the 3 grulla mares we see this year; the light, medium and dark colored mares that hang together.
I expect to see a change in the band locations by the time we get back out in August or September if the grazing changes and it is without rain out there. They will almost certainly have to leave the Lambing Grounds to seek food and some of the water holes dry up later in the year but I have never seen the Lambing Grounds without some water and there are 3 water holes curerntly.
I still have not found out why Smyth Res is all but dry unless someone with legal water rights diverted it. It was just a giant puddle and last year you could have gone swimming in it at one point (and was I tempted). Yank is a great place to cool your toes in the summer!!
