We have four purebred Kiger mares due this season; maybe as soon as nine days from now! Mari is due May 11 but if she foals early like last year, it will put her at April 19. She is shaping up the quickest so my guess is she'll be first. Mari is bred to Hawk - this will be his only foal, as he's been gelded. Leza is due April 22, bred back to Charro - colt colt colt dance everyone!!! I have high hopes for a super colt from them. Joy is due April 30 - this is our first foal from her and she is bred to Charro. Tasa is due on May 2nd and she is huge but udder shaping up slowly. Last year was her first foal, Zerlina, and she is bred back to Gringo for a full sibling. If I remember right, she went early. These pics were taken April 3rd...

I am almost as excited for Leza's foal as I am for LR's foal. BUT, I am hoping that if LR has a colt you will buy it:-)!!!!

I can't wait to see all of them they all sound like amazing crosses if only I had the money to get one of your babies or ladies. Sigh. Lol so I just sit at my computer and drool. Good luck this year with all of your babies

I'm not really familiar with your mares, but I must say - Tasa in particular I find quite strikingly attractive, and the others are all lovely. I look forward to pictures of the foals.

Yes, Tasa is a looker!!!
Any guesses anyone???
Mari has had two foal: one grulla filly and one bay/dun colt. Her filly was wild conceived so I have no idea of sire or gestation. Her colt was 20 days early; officially due May 11. She is bred to Hawk who is out of a dun mare and black stallion.
Leza has had three foals for my - all fillies; two grullas and one dark grulla. I know she came out of the wild with a grullo colt. She usually foals pretty close to her due date, which is April 22. She is bred back to Charro (grullo).
Joy has had one foal before I bought her last year; a grullo colt. I have no idea of her gestation; she is officially due April 30. Joy is bred to Charro.
Tasa has had one foal - a dunskin filly and is bred back to the same sire, Gringo. Gringo is a double dilute plus cream and dun (he is bay based with a red gene). She foaled 339 days; due this year on May 2nd.

Bear in mind that I'm no breeder! Nor a disciple of genetics.

Maybe Mari will pull a Calista! Has she bagged up at all?
Mari 23rd dark dun filly Leza 26th grullo colt Tasa May 5th grulla filly Joy May 6th grullo colt
Oh, I have been meaning to ask you Michelle, do you have pictures of the lesser known faces around Rancho Bayo? I was just wondering if you had photos of everyone in the wild bunch. It's fun to see who helps raise and shape the minds of the young horses at your place.

Maris' udders this morning: Mari is slow going today, did not move while I put shavings down right under her and was in no hurry to eat her evening hay. I will be checking on her tonight every few hours. Her flanks are filled in as of this evening. Sarah, I'll get some pics of the three wild mares up soon...
