Frodo made me laugh today, he kicked the vet! lol. Frodo will let me and my husband do anything to him and touch him anywhere. Our dairy vet use to breed horses so he went out and was chcking out Frodo. Frodo wasnt too sure about this new person in white coveralls touching him and poking and prodding him. The vet went to check his stifles and feel his legs and im guessing held his leg up for just too long cuz all of a sudden i hear a wack!! Frodo let the vet know what he thought of the exam, and i let Frodo know that that was not acceptable with a firm smack on the rump. Did he go anywhere? no. He stayed right there with me and let the vet finish. All the while Dollie is grazing about 15 feet away and not caring one bit what we were doing to her baby. Such a good mama to trust me, lol. And after all of this Frodo tries to follow me out of the pasture, lol. He is such a character. I guess i need to get more people in there handling him and doing weird things to him.

Thats too funny! Sounds like you have a character there for sure. I have found its better to let as many people around them as possible - when I first got Bella, I was mainly the one who did everything with her and noticed she was shy with others that tried to do anything with her so saw then I had to let others at least pet on her and brush her...! They get very attached to there owner quickly! Which is what I love about them also tho!! We are gonna have fun watching this little fellow grow up, will have stories for sure...

I wish i had peopel wanting to give him the attention. I have no one to even go near him, the one sucky thing about country life.
I am still in awe with some of the comments I have received from workers and passer-by's. He is only 9 days old and yet they are mesmerized by him. I dont understand. I know he is cute and big but still ... he is nine days old!!! What can you tell about how he will turn out when he is only nine days old? Call me ignorent and oblivious but all i see is a cute fuzzy foal.

lol, fuzzy foals are the best. you can see their mind working, I Love watching nugget explore his world. didn't want to many hands on him at first. till we bonded, Jim myself and the foal...now people can touch him, but you are so right, they bond to their human really fast...

Remarkably fast!!! I was not expecting it like it is. I was very surprized that he was a calm as he was when i introduced him to my neices (5 & almost 4). I think he was more accepting of them then he was the vet... maybe he knows what the vet will eventually do to him... lots of needles.

I was so mean to Frodo today. I attached a short lead to his halter for weight and pressure and it gave him a new sensation of something swinging from under his face. He thought it was weird at first but soon though it was a fun new toy and was running around swinging his head and jumping, hopping and bucking. it was rather entertaining to watch. He also had a visit from the farrier today. Dolie needed a trim and the farrier though he would see what he could get away with. We were abe to take the points off of his back feet with very little fight.

He's beautiful! I can understand why people are enchanted by him. The bones stay the same, so his shoulder and hip and length of neck you can see now are very nice! His legs are straight, which is nice, they can straighten as a foal grows but if they are straight to start with they don't have to.

I have two videos so far of Dollie and Frodo running around. Neither are very good but you can see his movements and carriage. The first was taken on Sunday (14 days old) He has his short lead on and was playing with it just before and after this vidoe trying to catch it in his mouth and grabbing it and shaking it like a little dog www.youtube.com/watch?v=VASNsLU0xrUThe Second I took today when i turned them out on pasture. My husband was playing with his dog right behind me and it was geting them all excited. (16 days old) www.youtube.com/watch?v=pEtpia0dfxA

lol...his ears turned into little antlers. If he starts bouncing around like a deer, you'll know why.

Yeah it isn't the best shot but it was the cutest and most clear. i was so mean to him, putting my gloves on his ears. The sad part is that as long as i gave him love and scratches, he didnt care one bit. Such a good baby
