Congrats!! Can't wait to see the little guy! Seems like lots of boys this year....maybe I'll be as blessed with some colts too...instead of all those fillies that I-just-have-to keep around here!

I just leased a new farm, and I've been working on fencing the past few days. I was planning on moving Kira out there today to put her in the nice foaling stall.... of course she foaled the day before I moved her. So my friend came out and helped me get them in the trailer, then she rode in the trailer with him to make sure he didn't fall. Now they are nice and snug in a big stall at the new farm! I'll post better pics later.  ) |

Yep' no doubt that is a T-man baby ..what a cute lad', he looks snug as a bug in a rug with his little jacket. Nice to hear you got a new place and they made the trip with no problem. OF COURSE Kira could not wait just one more day to foal in the new stall...LOL. ;D

He gave me a huge scare today! I'm still not sure what the problem was, but I think the little man is out of the woods. I'll know for sure in the morning. Mom got colicy and i think that caused her milk to draw back up, so the little guy wasn't getting enough to eat. That made his sugar drop, his body temp drop, and he got weak and dehydrated. After some Foal-Lac, an enema, plastic over the barn windows, a propane heater, and some banamine for mom, I think we're safe.
On another note, my vet PISSED me off! In not so many words, he pretty much said it wasn't worth his time to come out if I wasn't going to shell out $1500 for plasma transfusions. Gah!

Can you find another vet??? If you are gonna pay him for a visit, my opinion is he darn well better get his butt out there...THAT"S WHAT HE"S PAID FOR....I fired a vet because I pay her for her opinion, which she wasn't willing to offer so I said good bye....And I'm very happy I did....LOVE the new vet....
Let us know how he does.....Poor Kira was probably so miserably huge she couldn't wait....Here's hoping you all get some warmer weather!
