nope not today either. My daughter took her for a walk yesterday, I finally moved her out of the stall and put her in the arena today. She has swollen pregnant lady ankles from just standing in the same spot all day and all night long holding her cheeks together.....LOL. even though the stall is 24 feet X 24 feet. She was happy for some soft sand and dirt and stopped, dropped and rolled first thing. At least she may walk around a bit to help fend off the swelling and hopefully convince her to let that baby out.

No foal yet. I am willing to wait and see, but my daughter is getting anxious. Cleo' looks the part of a mare that is ready to foal anyday. She is at 347 days sense her breeding date. But sense I am not pychic and can't give my daughter a good answer to her question 'when will Cleo foal?' I decided to ask her if she was ready to taste her mares milk....LOL. Don't know why I never thought about testing Cleo's milk before, duh! Anyway her milk is the color of skim milk and not sweet to taste. I would say we have a few more days but we will keep testing that milk. Cleo' is no longer waxing so much.

OK one thing we know for sure my foal perdiction skills ..not so good, we were wrong on so may levels or Cleo' just threw us for a loop. The good news she FINALLY foaled ;D At 1:30AM foal check I caught her laying down and she had just foaled. The nail test said it would be a filly, we were so sure too, it is a colt. Now we will have two wild young boys playing the pastures this summer. We thought for sure Cleo' would be a fabulous Mom. she talked to the colt and licked him when he was born. He made several attempts to get up and was up before she was. I finally made Cleo' get up, as well. I knew he would need to nurse. Then she decided she did not like him and would strike and squeel at him. He was more interested in trotting around in circles once he figured out his legs then nursing. I was correct about the fact he would come out running. But I got halter on her scolded her when she objected to him, got him to hold still long enough to nurse. This morning eveyone is doing much better. My daughter named him Scout, we were wrong about our color perdiction of bay. He is a chestnut...I give up. He is sweet, brave and independent, he has learned this morning he can canter not just trot. I got a couple pictures of when he took a pause, I wanted to get a running shot when the camera batteries died.

Hoorah for Cleo, nice job. Really cute colt, nice markings too. Funny how mother nature has a sense of humor and I can hear that you and your daughter are already gone over him.

Way to go Cleo! He is a cutie. What a sleek coat he has already. Guess that's what you get when you hold out for warm weather. No wonder you are so happy, you got a double blessing.

I love the name Scout, reminds me of watching the Lone Ranger as a tyke. He's really nice, and I'll bet Cleo has something to say about Super being too roudy around her precious boy.

Congratulations! ;D Neat markings, I like it when they're mostly dark with those type of white markings.
