Fantasy is driving me nutz...yes the ticker tape says less then 30 days away and that tape was set at her delivering at 345 days. We do know her last breed date so I was able to do a count down. But I peek under her belly and there is no boobie action ..nothing this is a mare that developes an udder over several weeks. She has been known to drip milk after waxing for a week before delivery. This mare is sure to go over the date on that ticker tape this go around. Of course just when the mares get a pattern going with foaling, they have been known throw wrench in the mess and do something out of character As I mentioned above Fantasy has me wondering what she is up to, but I did take some pictures today and there is a bigger belly. I can only hope her pregnancy is going differantly because the vet is wrong on his prediction this is a Molly not a John. You can see my daughter's pregnant mare Cleo' as well on the left she is not due until May 21st.

I am sitting in my office looking out at snowflakes. Got those wonderful "ear warmer socks" ready in case our weather reverts to December-like. Waiting is always so hard for me whether it is human or horse kids. Keep us posted and of course we want pics as soon as possible.

Oh I would imagine Fantasy still has a few weeks before her foal date and I sure hope that this 'flash back to winter' nonsense will have passed. As I too am watching lovely snowflakes fall from the skies...ugh. I have my fingers crossed that it will at least not be freezing the night my mule is born this time around.
To answer the question "who Cleo' is bred to?" she was bred to a friends black and white tobiano Paint stallion. She has the most active foal I have ever seen in a horses belly. That foal is always kicking out, poor Cleo' I tease my daughter her foal is going to come out running. I hope she is prepared. Cleo' is half Paint her dam was a loud Overo.

Tiffany, hows' Fantasys' "boobie watch"...anything yet? I know how you feel. Our mares that are due last (may 25 and june 4) have bigger tts' than the ones due at the begining of the month! Sycha has little ones and Morgans' look like pancakes (and she gets big 'ole cow udders!). Contora and Nesa are both maiden mares, so who knows what is going on under there!
Lynn and I usually have our yearly margaritas AFTER foaling season, however, last year we had to start early and I think this year may be a repeat! We may even have to go to the hard stuff!
How's Cleo doing?

Here are a couple new pictures, Fantasy is still hanging in there looking the same. I think she will hold out so I can go to the coast this weekend with my family for my daughters birthday. We have rented a house on the beach, it was debatable if I would go. Cleo has blossomed in a outwardly direction...LOL ;D looking rather wide these days. Still no udder developement.
