Does Fantasy usually run really late? I'm wondering about the May 10th date since her last breeding date was the 19th. Looks like her tailhead has softened too. This is so exciting, I can wait to see her little mule foal.

Oh I can't wait to see this little one. Does anyone know if they're any more kiger mules out there? I can't wait to see how it grows up. Keeping my fingers, toes, arms, legs, etc crossed for you this year and hope all goes better than last time. Have you picked out any names yet?

I do believe there are other Kiger mules out there, somewhere. As horses go 11 mths and donkeys go 12 mths before foaling, mules fall somewhere inbetween. I am looking at Fantasy's udder and the developement really has me thinking around the 10th, maybe sooner. But I do hope not to much later.
Oh I have been slacking with thinking of names. Last time I really wanted a spanish name, this time I am not so sure maybe just a fun name.
I spoke to Matt the other day, as he was calling to check on Fantasy and they recently had full Kiger filly on his farm, he says is a spitfire out a Cowboy and a Kiger mare they still own.

OK... after lunch today I wander out to the pasture where Fantasy spends her days to take some new pregnant mare pictures to share on the board... she has her leg wrapped from a wound she got fighting with horses last week, nothing bad, I just want to keep it clean. . . . Then an hour later I hear my neighbor screaming for me, Fantasy had foaled and was fretting about all the horses trying to check out her foal. With my neioghbors help we got them moved and I got these pictures taken of my new healthly big bay john mule. ;D I am VERY pleased.

Wow he is a big boy! No wonder why all your horses were checking him out. They were probably wondering how Fantasy could have possibly snuck him in.

No name yet, I have been so busy. I set things up so I can turn Fantasy and the mule out into a larger arena area during the day so he can stretch those long legs and run. Fantasy got cleaned up today and the mule said HI to the cows thru the fence while I cleaned her up. Once in the arena he had his first experience with electric tape when he promptly touched his nose to it (on the one side where there is electric)and got a nice ZAP!...don't think he will repeat. I then went trail riding. I have trail rides planned every day for the rest of the week. Some time though I need to find time to figure out the perfect name, for my boy.
