Fernando the mule foal passed away

It is very upsetting to report that Fernando passed away last night. He had been having trouble with some adema in his nasal passage which caused some labored breathing. The vets seemed not to be to concerned but yesterday we noticed he had not nursed due to increased difficulty in breathing and he had a temprature the vet was called he was put on antibiotics but passed away with in a few hours. It all happened very fast as he was doing fine earlier in the day at noon he quit nursing and by the afternoon the vet was called and 9PM he was gone.
I do not know what is more heartbreaking at this point him being gone or watching Fantasy, my girl, so upset that he is gone.

Thank you very much..it was very heartbreaking. But given some time Fantasy and I will be OK. We buried him today next to my daughter's first horse that passed away a few years back, he is in good company.
