I've enjoyed reading your website Sue and have great respect for the vaquero method of training. It will be fun having you as part of the board.

Sue you do have a very nice site. Glad to see the type of training you are doing with these great horses and finding them forever homes. I am just starting my breeding program. My website also needs to be updated, but it is EscaleraDeOro.com. Currently I just have one mare bred. She is foundation QH and bred to Michelle's stallion Desi. My wild mare, Mariposa, is in the process of being trained and I will wait till she is under saddle and a bit older before I breed her. When I adopted her from the BLM she was already bred and had a beautiful Grulla Filly, Calixta. Eventually I will breed her as well. I would like to show all of my horses, but they are all still young. Solana, Kiger/QH, will be starting her training soon as well. So, my program is young, but I am planing on breeding quality, useful horses.

Hi. Here at Circle S we don't show very much, except a couple expos each year, but we do stay pretty busy on the ranch circit and our horses earn their feed! We stand Kiger Diamond Rio at stud, and I've usually got a horse or two around I'd consider trading... ;D The website is www.circlesranchandoutfitters.com Brian

Looks like a start up breeder. I've not seen their site before and I've done a lot of wandering of sites.

I belive Billy was on the other board for a short time...if I remember correctly, I rather liked what he had to say.
Thanks everyone for putting up all these breeders - keep them coming. I want to make a draft email and begin to contact people about Kiger Quest and see if we can't expand the group and ideas.

Yes, I believe Billy as been around for quite awhile. I think he has adopted Kigers in the last 2 adoptions. Lisa

You should be commended Stormy Ranch for doing this. I peruse Craigslist/Dreamhorse and other sites every day and it is sad out there for horses in general. If everyone could cut back on their own breeding as well as taking in outside mares to be bred, I think we could cut the number of horses on the market. Maybe not right away, but it would make a difference. Every little bit helps! It's also nice to see the breeders/kiger owners that do more than just halter break their horses. Any well broke horse is more marketable. IMO that is!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We are showing our Kigers, but not breeding this year or next. We have three stallions, Dino, Lui and La Ponderosa. Link to Post - Back to Top Logged

I think as far as breeding, this will be a good cleansing - maybe better than the 80's. There are alot of local boards/list I frequent just to see what is going on with the horse market, and most low end/color breeders are selling out. It is nice to see because I agree with you, the market is way overburdened at this point.
Most highend breeders are only breeding their best mares this upcoming year.
We bred six mares for next season (hindsight I guess!) - I could have done with a lower number since the economy tanked! This upcoming year I am only breeding 3 mares mainly just to continue breeding for our own foundation lines. Since we have so many young ones coming riding age, we are going to concentrate our efforts on showing/promoting over the upcoming years. It is a hard balance because once the economy gets back up and we are out there showing, the demand will be high with no stock to sell....!!
Heidi....nice to have you on board!

A cleansing it has been, some I am sad to see go and others not so much. I myself am having my last foal this coming spring a mule for myself. I still have fairy tale dreams of a herd of gray Kiger Mustangs dancing in my head though

keep your dreams alive The nice thing about dreams is... they don't cost anything. When the economy picks back up, your dreams can start back towards reality.

Anyone know about Flying D Kigers? They have some kigers posted on dreamhorse and I tried doing a google search to see if I can find anything more about them. They are located in Orland, California 95963. They have a 2 babies out of Kiger Tempest KMA #0409-W, Dun. Is she the same mare that Judy had and then the people in Ohio, www.warrencountykigers.com ? They are selling 7 horses, 6 of them are kigers.

Hi everybody
Triple P is where I got Nocona. It's a real mess since Jim died, son trying to get estate settled.
My neighbor bought two from there: Andy, her gruella 2 or 3 y/o then Nocona's mom, Tequilla Sunrise last fall. She just told me last night that she is going to sell Tequilla...not enough time and resources to have two green horses as Andy is just getting started under saddle. Tequilla is green broke but still kind of bucky sometimes. But in her defense, this winter she didn't get worked, before that she was pregnant with Nocona so not really her fault. She's really pretty.

Flying D is Ralph and Shauna Dingus, who are very active in the KMA. They had Kim's grulla stallion, Kody, there for a while for breeding. I don't know if they have a website, but nice folks.
