Who are the still active kiger breeders and or trainers that are showing? Looking on the internet I found Rancho Bayo, Karismakigers, Kigers De los Californios,hilltopfarm-oregon... I don't know what any of their plans are, but they seem to be active (Obviously Michelle still is). I know there are more, but can't think of them at this moment.

The CKMR has two members still breeding and showing their Kigers. One in Canada and the other in the US.

We are showing our Kigers, but not breeding this year or next. We have three stallions, Dino, Lui and La Ponderosa.

There was some kiger's I found in south Georgia, not sure if anyone knows of anyone down that way or not, they had a grullo stallion and some mares. I have actually seen many more kiger breeder's on the net, but they don't visit here. Everyone I talk to or meet I try to direct them to here.

Horse Springs Kiger Ranch in western Washington State is still active in both breeding and showing. We stand three stallions, My Kiger Tiger , 1992 freezebranded dun; HS My Kiger Kodiak, 2000 captive bred grullo (My Kiger Tiger x Kiger Savannah); and Fuego, 1999 freezebranded red dun.

I just did another search and found www.warrencountykigers.com in Lebanon, Ohio. They have kiger Tempest (wasn't she previously owned by Judy Yancey?).

Triple P Kigers no longer has Kigers, as Jim died this summer in motorcycle crash. He had some lovely Kigers. He was one of the people who wanted to breed his mare to my stallion.
Kigeranne has successfully promoted her fabulous Kigers more than almost anyone, but she can speak for herself.

I purchased my grulla kiger filly, Blackstone's Lady Shiloh, from Warren County Kigers in August of 2007. They must have purchased Tempest since then as she wasn't at Ron's place when I went out to pick up Shiloh (who was named Shadow at his farm).
Our Shiloh is quite the alpha mare and even though she was sent for training this past spring, she still thinks that she can decide to try and return home when on a trail ride. She never suceeds, but does try....the brat. We are hoping that this is a four year old bratty stage, but aren't sure, as this is the first mare we have owned, and definitely the first alpha mare we have owned!!
Any suggestions?

Wow, I hadn't heard that about Jim. I wonder where his Kigers went. His stallion, Truthsayer's Sun, was out of the same stallion as Chinook. And if Esperanza isn't related to LadyRose I'll eat my hat.

Melissa, Kiger Anne, has done the most remarkable job of training her Kigers. She is always looking for something new to work on and its amazing the wonderful things she does with them. Her boys are all gelded.

Horse Springs Kiger Ranch, Goodfield Kigers (kigeranne) and Circle S Kigers all produce offspring that are from usability/undersaddle stock. I'm sure there are other breeders out there that produce from both stallion and mare undersaddle so hopefully we can hear of or from them.
Shirley, Warren County Kigers briefly owned Lord Blackstone before gelding him. He was never at Ron's so most likely the mare, that produced your filly, was in foal when they acquired him from Tahlamora Farms in VA. They also acquired some of Tahlamora's mares so they could have been bred shortly thereafter. Blackstone was an exceptional mover. He stamped that on my mare, who was his first filly/foal, plus her full brother who is now in Sweden. I would love to talk more with you about Shiloh.
As Dianne said, Melissa's original stud, Sombra, is highly trained and a standard we all should strive toward in that light. Yep. he's now gelded as is his first son, Storm. Storm too is exceptional!
Having been around this breed for many years, without trying to taunt or be smart, I'll say keep searching. There are lots of stallions out there. Some deserving, some maybe not so other than the words Kiger and dun. The real situation isn't that Kiger stallions are in short supply. The real situation is separating the fluff from the future of the breed!
