she was awesome, Jim said she was so alert and attentive, there was one spot that she stopped and would not go over,Jim tried to get her to get moving, but she stopped and said nope no way, so Jim got off her and walked her over that spot, Jim did not want to force the issue and keep kicking her, he felt it was best after a while to lead her across, the ride is like a lolly pop and you go around the mountain with some rough spots, Doreen, and her husband Jean were so impressed with Stormy. Doreen is a certified trainer and she has given us pointers, but has stated what Jim has done with her is fantastic... she (Doreen) got pictures and will either e-mail them to me,or put them on a disk, then I will post them once I get them.

That was really wise to lead her across the sticky spot. Kudos to Jim and how cool that the trainer liked her!

we will be doing trail rides with this trainer and her husband a lot... she has her horse's where we stable and she just loves stormy, riddle, and our paint flashy...Doreen taught Stormy how to side step to the mounting blocks so I can mount, she said stormy got it in a matter of minuets..so when I did ride her that is how I mount..I will be able to start riding re x-rayed, my lower back no break after all, deep bruising in the muscle, and he felt in the bone ...something had to be on the first x-ray, maybe a slight scratch on the film to make us think it was broke,,I am relieved to know it isn't broke...

How kind and smart of Jim to show Stormy the way. Certainly the right step in building her confidence. How old is she? Can't wait to see the picutres.

Congratulations on a successful trail ride, what wonderful news for Jim and Stormy. Even better news that your back is going to heal up fine with no fractures So you will be back in the saddle in the near future. The winter months are your riding months, as things cool down for you guys. I wish I could pack up and run down to AZ for a few months. Instead I am bringing in the wood, checking the roofs and shelters, dragging out the trough heaters and making sure to keep the hoses drained. Soon it will be a freezing cold winter

ouch tiffany, and soon I will be doing that too, when I move up to our 9 acres in Snowflake. And yes fall, winter and early spring is when we tend to do most of our riding..not to say there are people who take their horse out when it is a 110 degrees, which I never understood...

Jim and Stormy are going out again this weekend, with our friends (she is the trainer and her husband is her partner)... She got her shoes on yesterday...we also now have to be on the look out for rattlers, our friends horse was bit while out trail riding last week, and they say a large rattler out where we stable, not at the stable because the stable has chickens and I mean chickens like 50 and no snakes on that property, but out away yes..So we all have to keep alert whether we are riding or like me waling the area..but she is going out again and I hope she will not be as sore as the last time...

Jim and Stormy went trail riding yesterday it was total of 7 miles in and out. she did awesome, did not spook at cyclest speed peddling past her, went up and down the levies with so much ease, her eet were shod so she was not ouchy, when it was her turn to lead she stepped out and the Trainer said she is a natural leaeder. Her husband want to buy her because there is not a mean bone in her body, she is smart, and they just love her, but she is not for sale..She is slimming down, were seeing withers now, so she is maturing out, but we do feel she will grow a bit more, she had a growth spirt, her rum is higher then her front, so we know she will gorw to level that out...I am so impressed with her, and with this breed...they will be going out I tink again next week...I might beable to go and ride her, and Jim will ride Flashy...I am looking forward to it...
