One of our Foundation QH mares, Momma, is shaping up to foal. She is having the first of four Desi foals due this year! ;D ;D I am excited, but Momma tends to have more of a QH looking foal, so we really won't get that accurate of an idea with this first one. It will be interesting to compare the part QH foals this year with Morgans' colt, Zues, being he is a pure QH! She is due Monday (at 340 days). Last year she foaled exactly 340, the year before at 334...both fillies. After comparing picts of the last two years, she looks at if she will foal right on time....her milk tests were pretty similar the last two years, so we will go more off of that anyway! Some picts posted here: ranchobayo.proboards100.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=2

I was told that a colt tends to be more active then fillies, if this is true then Flashy will have a filly, which is what I really want. Can't wait to hear what she has had Michelle, and pictures.

Funny story...when I had Madonna ultrasounded after she was bred to a Luso stallion, the fetus was 21 days old and it was actually jumping around on the screen! Every time the vet moved the scope, the fetus jumped. She said she had never seen that before and we better stand back when this one pops out! That was Diva, who is surely a firecracker!
Nola, Mommas' foal seems very active. We have yet to have a colt from her so that would be great, although we don't have a Charro/Momma colt to compare to...so actually a filly would be good for that purpose!

Momma looks good and has the same due date as Fantasy. I am very interested in seeing the first of Desi's foals for sure.

Well, Momma is overdue and been slow to finish shaping up. Tonight she finally has some skim colored milk, pretty restless and looking very motherly. Don't think it will be tonight, but hoping tomarrow!

OKAY.....Momma is ripe for the pickens'! I am so hoping tonight and that she won't make us wait more. Her milk finally went from yellowish yesterday to opaque white tonight...thick and her levels are all primed to have that foal. Of course, Chilli, who is not officially due until May 4, has waxed and has milk on her legs. She usually goes two weeks early every year, but I don't think she will make this one. Oh, and Mari......HUGE bag and swollen who-ha.
I CAN'T STAND IT NO'MORE!
And, oops - tomarrow is our Open House!

wow busy busy place Michelle, I am keeping a journal on Flashy now, her who-ha is changing, and she is getting jelly butt, it isn't really mushy just a bit towards her who-ha and she has bag's but not waxing, or dripping. I feel I have at least 3 weeks left.

BIG red dun filly, born right before midnight. I am pleasantly surprised and thrilled with Desis' first foal on the ground. She looks like him as a foal and moves the same....hind legs going way underneath and uphill with lots of bend in her legs and spring in her step! Can't wait to see her this morning!
Open House today, but will post picts tonight! ;D ;D ;D

This is a super filly and I can't say enough about how thrilled I am that Desi has way passed my expectations as a stallion (so far!). It is hard to get a side shot of her as she really never stands still! She has explored every inch of the stall and pen - probably twice - runs, plays, jumps and gets into everything already at less than 24 hours old. Sweet and friendly, wanting to meet everyone who comes around. She seems to just float when she trots and gets into her uphill canter, she moves so much like Desi did when he was young. Really makes me think of what the EPM really did to his development. Her name is Bayo Isadora - which means "gifted, with many ideas" - suits her very well!
