We stayed at the Comfort Inn...was fairly new then and price was very good. AND easy parking for trailers!! Group rate would be perfect, great idea!

Anyone, going from Maryland or surrounding areas that may have trailer room on the way back? The BLM shipped my boy for free to a Va satellite adoption, but I had to wait 2 months to get him home and was such a long wait! We are flying out since no truck to make that trip:(

I'm in North Carolina, and I'm going! Depends on if I think my truck & trailer can handle the trip or not. If I am up to it, I'll be driving and hauling a 4 horse trailer. I am only planning on bringing back one horse, so I was hoping to find some other east coast people that might want to share a ride back to help defray cost. If I don't drive, I'll be flying out and paying a shipper to bring my horse back. Maybe we could go in together and get a discounted rate if we can move a few horses back at once. Either way... I'm going! LOL. Does anyone have any concrete info on it yet? Dates or such?

Yeah, I can't wait for an actual date!!!!!
And it will be so fun to watch you pick out your next Kiger, Amanda.....Stacey and I were talking and we are not adopting this time....so we'll cheer you (and everyone else) on!
For those of you at the last adoption, remember the first corral with the old guys in it? Argo, and the others? I still wonder what happened to the other 2.....and how they are today.....
Ah, the memories!

STLKigers,
The motel that was just remodeled is the Sundowner. They have rooms with microwave and fridge starting at $49. Also they have a new Rory and Ryan Inn next to the ROry and Ryan Best Western that just went in this summer. There are several motels in Burns/Hines. Most of them are pretty good.

If your going to The Meat Hook count me in. Also the Pine Room has really good food. RJ's is probably the best for breakfast.

Has anyone thought of maybe putting together a photo album of all the past adoptions they've been to over the years? I think it would be so interesting to see all the pictures of the old adoption horses and compare them to the newly adopted ones to see how the Kiger herd has changed.

Anyone we know going to observe? Who will select the horses to go back out? I know Ron will be there in spirit.

OK: So is anyone else wondering if the 2011 planned gather will even take place? With the $2 million proposed cuts to the BLM budget, and this new rider, I think it's looking grim....What do you all think? www.aowha.org/war/house_cuts_110216.htmlAngela
