I just got these from Kelly. This is the newest Doc Romeo filly to be born at Muddy Creek Farms. From what I am told, this mare is a full sister to Sierra Myst by Michelle's stallion Geronimo (Hope this works)

Its hard to say what color the filly will shed out to. She does have some darker areas around her nose and lower legs so perhaps a deep grulla color maybe, but I am just taking a stab in the dark. I guess we will just have to wait and see. Hopefully more pictures will arrive in the next week or so.
This is one filly I really like. Hmmmm, perhaps she just might find a home in Canada. After all, I will need a pasture buddy for my foal from Shasta. Everyone told me that you cant own just one Kiger, maybe there is something to that after all.

I can almost guarantee you this filly is not going to shed out grulla. she's bay and is going to stay bay. i'll send Angel some pics to post as an example of a foal the same color 5 years ago, and now. I had the same thought as you then..."maybe a dark grulla when shed out?" not! How old is she in the pics?

You could be right, I am only guessing. She is about 3 days old (give or take) in the pictures. Would love to see your pictures of your bay Kiger. The variations of the Kiger color genes really interests me.
I can hardly wait to see what Shasta throws. I am told that both her parents were the traditional light dun color and she is bred to a red dun stallion who was out of a red dun mare and by a grullo stallion (who carries one red gene).

So, kigermustang1, Karen,Kelly?
In April you didn't know who this stallion was and now you are posting his offspring...for an owner you just contacted via his website etc etc etc.
Is this just a coincidence, or am I missing somethin?
I'm findin this a little ....odd.

Okay, I will try this one more time!!!!! My name is KAREN, not Kelly. I received the pictures from Kelly. SHE is the one that knows the owner, NOT ME!!!! I never claimed to know him, I only know what Kelly told me. She emailed me the pictures and I thought it would be nice to post them. (Please see the first line at the top of this thread.) If you have any other questions/statements, please feel free to email me or PM me. Thank you

That is Juneau! I love Juneau! I really thought he was going to be a dun as a baby, and I was so surprised to see how he turned out! Both his parents are dun :-) He is very pretty though. Lil

Great pictures. I didnt realize that bay was a part of the color choices in the Kiger breed so I did some research and found that dun is not a color, it's a modifier. The filly still has the dorsal stripe. Can anyone explain this? I dont understand....if dun is a modifier than why does this little filly still have a dorsal stripe if she is a base color? (what am I missing?)
