She is doing great and only 10 months old!! You (is this your horse, sorry, I forgot) are putting a wonderful start and foundation on her. It's good to see you getting her out and trained!! I love to watch them think and figure things out - they are very curious which is a good trait. I do love the way the trainer is so calm and relaxed.
I think it's important to work with young horses like that. The more you can do before saddle time, the better horse you'll have under saddle. Thanks for sharing with us. I love the video's!!

No, I dont own Diva, she is the grand daughter of the mare I leased. She will also be the half sibling to the foal I am expecting next month. From what I have been told, she is owned by a lady in Quebec. The lady does Parelli and just loves Diva, they are having so much fun together. Her blog address is migelle61.wordpress.com/category/sweet-savvy-diva/

It looks like you will be having a very nice foal coming into the world...Diva seems to have a pretty calm temperment and a pretty girl also! Can't wait to see your little one next month. The wait is hard, isnt it?

Hi out there, I am surprised to find a link to my blog with pictures of myself and Diva!
Now that you have met her, I think it would be fair to offer you an update of how things are going with her.
The pictures and videos that you have seen were taken when Diva was 10 months old. I adopted her when she was just five months. She came to me as a gift at a time when I sure needed to receive one, but was not expecting to acquire another horse.
I still handle her daily and we are truly developing a good partnership. In a way, I became like a mother for her. That is the kind of relationship I think we have.
She is growing into a strong, intelligent, brave and arrogant little horse! Arrogant in the sense of her name: DIVA. She thinks she is all that and more! She is now 14hh at 19 months. I am thinking she will hit the 15hh mark as an adult.
We had issues with a hay belly when we changed locations but with adding some Ration Plus to her diet, she is now just chubby! hahahaha. This girl likes to eat, she is very food oriented. I have her on a hay only diet, with about half a pound of alfalfa cubes as a carrier to her custom mineral mix. She prefers hay, schrubs, bark, etc. to any form of commercial feed and will turn her nose up at everytime. We finally agreed on a small amount of alfalfa, but that took some doing also. My Arab gelding will ANYTHING in terms of commercial feed (he gets the same as she does now) and is not particularly interested in schrubs, although he does like spruce and cedar.
If anyone knows the older Parelli program (the one published in the 90's) that is the program I follow with both of my horses. My Arab and I are playing with the third and most advanced level, where Diva and I are very advanced in the second level. Come spring we will set up our round pen and finish the liberty tasks and start the third level.
I am hoping to start driving Diva come fall. She will be a solid 2 years and some, and will be able to handle some strolls a few times per week. Nothing strenuous, just walk trot for a couple of miles. We already tabble in driving without a bit and she is extremely responsive.
I am looking into competetive trail riding and will likely go volunteer and see how things happen come summer. Maybe Diva and will find our way there in her 4th year! Who knows...
this is a video of her and my Arabian gelding taken in September.
She is a sassy little tyke, although she can stand around eat all day, when I take her out for a walk on the trails, she is usually at liberty and runs, does sliding stops (that would make any QH jealous) spins, and gallops like crazy...
If I figure out how to put up pictures, I will do that also.

Very nice! I saw your post on the Real-Kigers yahoo group. Glad you joined us. There are a couple of people here who do endurance with their Kigers.

This is my filly again, Sweet Savvy Diva. She is out of Sweet Apparition and Doc Holiday. Sweet Apparition was in the States as a young one, better known as Kizzy. On this picture, she is trying to nip my Arab cause he obviously needed some leadership (so she says) and this is us getting ready to go play, and go for a long walk in the woods. I either have her at liberty, or use "long line" where I lead her with one long rope and halter...kind of like driving without a cart! Prior and proper preparation! This was in October, her mane, forelock, and tail have grown another 4-6 inches for sure. All comments about conformation (if possible from these pictures) or any other matter will be greatly appreciated. She is at the stage where the butt is higher than the wither, and just a general mess! I am a newby to Kigers, have been a lurking wanna be owner for years though.

She looks perfect for her age, were these last shots taken early last fall (judging from the corn)? She would have been just over a yearling then? She looks almost like a two year old. She's very beautiful and doing great as far as growing. You'll become familiar with Angel who has a two year old that has been through the teenage stage and is gorgeous. Diva is nicely proportioned with a good hip and very nice angles in her shoulder. I particularly like the long forearm. I think you have a really nice filly who is going to be wonderfully smooth to ride. It will be interesting to hear about your training as she grows up. I think Kizzy's name was short for Kiss My Face. I remember a picture of her sleeping in Bettye Robert's lap as a new filly.

Hi, and welcome! thanks for joing and sharing with us! We all love kiger stories, pics, etc!! I thought I'd share a few pics of my Bella (from Dianne) thru her growing stages and maybe you'll see your Diva looks about right on with her age and also have a little stroll thru memory lane. Can't believe she will be 3 this year! WOW,time flies! Only a week old here... close to 1 year old, maybe around 9 months here Yearling - you'll see she's sort of in the gawky stage...nothing seems to fit. here's she's over a year old and starting to look better and here we are today!!! Well actually this was 2 1/2 years old, this past summer. Much better..she still goes thru some funny stages just where she's filling out and maturing And our first ride together...just a few months ago!! I was only on her for about 15 - 20 minutes and she never cared one bit!! I've always said I wanted to be the first one on her...

The picture with the corn stalks was taken in October, so Diva would have been 16 months.
I know her mom Kizzy is from Bettye also. I wrote to the owner of Kizzy for some more info.
My goodness Kigers are gorgeous, thanks for posting pictures of your filly. Interesting to see how they develop. I am not quite sure what color Diva is as of now. I thought for sure was dun, but her strip, and points are more dark brown than black. Also her mane in the light looks like it has a prune hue to it. Would that be normal? She is not a true black color. Sometimes her coat looks kind of apricot. Other times, in the pictures especially she looks buckskin dun.
mystery!

Dianne, Kizzy is Diva's dam. Her registered name is Sweet Apparition. She was named Kissy face sit on my lap cause that was the first thing she did at birth, was sit in Bettye's lap. However on her papers it is Sweet Apparition that is the name. It is the same horse mentioned that was in a stall with "little big man" or Biggin at Equifest in Kansas.
