I think the way he is standing makes it hard to tell. He has Kiger characteristics but its not a good picture. I believe alot of ppl need educated on what I Kiger is. I was able to tell a horse was a Kiger that ran thru the Woodburn auction before they said he was a Kiger. I also found a puzzle at a grocery store that had a mare and foals head on the box and snatched it up because it was KIGER. I'll take a pic of that and post it so you can be the judge. I went to a Parelli study group with my mare and my friend had her dun QH mare. There were so many ppl that asked if the 2 horses were related just because of the color. Conformation wise they looked totally different. So alot of ppl just don't know. What I think would be fun on this post, is to find pics of any breed that has any type of dun color. Just to educate new Kiger ppl on conformation. I know we haven't decided what the right conformation of a Kiger should be but in general WE know what it is.

I've had two Quarter Horses and the build seems similar to me. Like you said, thick neck and the way the neck is set on the shoulders, but also large muscular rump. It might be the picture, Might look totally different from the side, who knows.

Oh talk about a blast form the past...That is Manny, I know this horse a red dun Kiger Mustang I assure you looks the part. His light red dun appearance is something of a rarity these days. He is a happy old man now, still with his original owner Pam. The photos aimed at his body and his bum, while hiding his face do give him the appearance that his hindquarters are larger leaving his head and neck to look smaller. I will have to see if I can dig up a better pic' of him on a search.

Riddle Mountain Redman is the horse in the photo and is also the horse in the first picture. Manny was grand champion Kiger at Kigerfest in 1999 if my memory is right.
Pictures, this is fun! 1) Luistano 2) Not sure, mustang? 3) QH 4) Morgan
