Reina is a half sister to Rico - Hipo (lusitano) x Madonna...she looks more and more like her momma all the time. She has been a joy to start under saddle - acts like she was born to have one on and carry a rider. Totally relaxed and accepting from day one. This is a trait I want to breed into our lines using the Lusitano, as they have been bred forever to have a job and be the ultimate saddle horse. Reina is four years old this year, we waited for her to mature some and it has been well worth it. She is just over 15'2 right now, so should end up 16 hand or a little over. This should be the year she will really fill out and grow a couple more inches. Relaxed and forward with Eric: We use sideways alot from the get-go to put a rein on the horses and to get them upright underneath you right away. Reina does nothing but try: A few shots of her head, which I just love: This mare I plan on showing in Doma Vaquera at the Andalusian/Lusitano shows. She has incredible reach with the hind legs, very nice carriage and is soft on the rein and leg naturally. Reina also will be one of our broodmares in the future...

Lovely mare! Beautiful face. I love that you don't rush their training. Linda D

She does look like her mom, wonderful that you have her and she is doing so well! Such a soft and calm eye on her.
