Just bumping up! BLM website has wrong date listed, so if you know anyone interested in coming out and seeing the yearlings, it's July 25

Great to see Kim and Dianne at the show today! (Guess it's technically yesterday at this point ;D) Seemed like the kids had fun. The open show was pretty darned small, but it gave the few who were there an opportunity to work in a different arena and put their horses through their paces. Kim brought her gelding (who's name I'm shamefully drawing a blank on right now, though it's at the tip of my tongue) and Ashli showed him in the western classes. He did great for his first time going to town, and people were ooooohing and aaaaaahing over him, swearing he must have been half arab with his sweet baby doll face. The YAY kids and their yearlings did a terrific job. 7 of the 11 yearlings were adopted; they're currently still at the facility and with any luck someone may call tomorrow and insist they need one. Their horses behaved wonderfully, proving that if you set forth with an open mind and willingness to work at the horse's level, gentling mustangs is child's play.

Wow, I fell in love with one of the geldings - did he get adopted? Well, it would have been very easy to fall for several of the yearlings actually, there were some VERY nice horses there. It was cool to see how the work the YAY had done was so productive. They did a great job and a big THANKS! to all of them. I spoke to one of the teenagers as they were leaving. She was in tears and so were her parents to leave the colt behind that she had gentled and someone had adopted. It was good to see Kim, did she take a horse home? Casino was a handsome fellow! Congratulations Tracey on doing such a wonderful job of organizing this and making it all happen. You did good. I can see this was a great idea.

Ashli had lots of fun riding Casino on his first trip to town. Casino is an awesome trail horse, but has never experienced the show scene. They had a blast. Yes, we brought Ashli's yearling "Snoop" home with us. He is still looking for that special adopter to take him, but neither of us could bear to let him go back to the corrals after all the work Ashli has done with him. He is such a nice, quiet gelding and will be a great horse for someone. He has certainly had a good start. Anyone interested in a cute, gentled Beaty's Butte yearling gelding??

Thank you, Dianne, that's very kind of you to say. Yes, Trey's gelding, Pollax, who had such wonderful movement and won the In Hand competition, ended up coming home with one of our members. Why on earth no one was interested in that lovely boy there escapes me. But one of our members knew someone interested in a dressage horse, so as soon as she got home she called her friend, who came over straight away the next morning and fell instantly under his spell. Ashli & Snoop looking good! Took Katie a bit to figure out the name...Plain Brown Rapper...that was pretty clever!

We're going to hear more about Pollax, just wait! I'm going to be able to say "I knew him when" even if it was just to admire him. Everyone there did a super job and I thought walking down the row of horses that the mustangs were some of the nicest horses there. There was one girl so set on the horse she (her mom actually) was bidding on that I thought she was going to cry when she won the auction.

That was Trey's other gelding, Castor, who the girl won. I heard they were texting each other back and forth all afternoon after they'd both left for the day.
Pollax's name has been changed to Elijah, so you'll need to be keeping your eye open for his new name.

OOH, such a great job Tracy! Way to go to all the kids to! Yeah, I can't wait to see Elijah in the future...Love the video and getting to see him move; he apparently loves that yellow ball cap too!
