Cedar has been sold to the nicest lady in west Texas. She knows horses well and was looking for a mustang to do competitive trail. She talked to the shipper she likes who also had shipped Bella. They put her in touch with Angel who told her all about Lakota, Bella and me- thanks again Angel! Cedar will stay in the home pasture surrounding the house as she acclimates to the warmer weather, so she can get hosed off a bit when its hot. She'll be worked mornings or evenings until September when a ride in the 4 Corners area is planned for her if all goes well and she's ready. I do love this mare and will miss her a lot. But I've found that they can be just as happy with the right person, just look at Angel with her two girls! Cedar is the smartest, kindest, sweetest horse I've ever known, and the most beautiful mare. The new buyer is interested in breeding her after several years, so we may get to see more of her wonderful foals.

I have tears in my eyes thinking of Cedar leaving your herd. I remember seeing that wonderful picture of her trotting and fell in love with her. She is my favorite mare. Lady Rose and Lark aren't far behind but Cedar just captured my heart. She has contributed greatly to the Kigers with her wonderful foals. How fortunate is the lady in Texas! I hope that she will post pictures of her or keep us informed of how she is doing as Cedar starts a new job. Linda D

I got a print from Lee Mitchelson of Cedar and Zuni as a foal. Zuni and Bolero would have had a foal this year if the economy hadn't gotten so bad here in Michigan. I was so looking forward to that match. Linda D

I gave Lee permission to use my photos for a while. One of things I'm looking forward to doing is using them myself. I'v always thought that Zuni and Bolero would be a great match. I hope it happens!

Another gorgeous Kiger heads to West Texas! LindaF on here has (my) Mattie down there and sends me updates now and again. West Texas is truly blessed with some beautiful gals! I look forward to hearing about Cedar and her new life... I believe I'll have a very hard time too, when I sell my Annie Oakley. It is hard to part with the favorites...

Where is Mattie? We should get them together. Cedar will be in Bronte, about half way between Albaline and Midlands, then south.

Yes, I still have 9 horses...Teanna will stay and her old mom, Tia. I'm planning on keeping Lark and either Blue or Mojito. I like both the boys a lot, it will be hard to decide. And dear Quil, not sure I can part with her - she moves so very nicely and is such dream to work with. Sedona is in training and will be sold. And LadyRose will be sold if I can find just the right home for her. Chinook is for sale and looks so wonderful, he and Beth had their best ride ever just before leaving the barn, it was magical...and of course my camcorder accidentally got set on manual focus so the whole thing is fuzzy. But its cool in a dreamy, nostalgic way.

Boy, My family and I are going to really miss Cedar, especially Rebecca. It will feel strange to look out into my pasture and see two black mares and no gold one, if anyone is wondering, Cedar is at my house right now. She finally got Rainy put in her place. Good luck Cedar, the Baker family loves you!!

I am so upset, Cedar left this morning. It is so strange to look out into the pasture and not see her. Rainy is going to miss her grooming partner. We had the best trail ride on her Sunday. I rode Bravo, Stef rode Chick and my youngest daughter, Rebecca, rode Cedar. Have a safe trip Cedar, We love you, even Ed is going to miss you.
