;D Well I am back, and we did great!!!! It was a long weekend and very warm on top of a mountain. We had no rain. We made it thru and we passed with flying colors. I was the radio person and the sound of it never bothered her. My team were riding in the dark, it took us awhile to find a camp site. The trail back to it was pretty rough and Chick went down to her knees on one of the bumps, but got right back up and kept going. We set up everything in the dark, with just little head lamps on.
We had a small real mission, one of my members got kicked and we had to get him out of there. All the training I gone thru finally really kicked in, it was great, ( not the part were my friend got hurt) but what I was suppose to do. Chick had to be held by a friend the time we were helping the injured person and she never gave the her any problems. On Sunday we had to rush down to another area and help another team. One of my members were was doing a hand gallop, maybe a bit faster, and Chick was passing him and his horse just at a trot. Boy the Mare can trot out. Stefani had a great time and my group found her. She was so spoiled!
I do believe that when Chick gets better, she will find the subjects for me.
Yesterday, I went on another small mock search with her and she did great. My partner rode a Walker and Chick had no problem keeping up with him. This search was quite different than the others because we had not just horseback searchers, there were dog teams, tracking teams and bike teams, so she had to be with all of them. She always knew when someone or something coming up or down the trail. She gets her head up hi and her ears don't stop moving until she sees what it is. I keep my eyes on her ears to warn me whats up. She seems to be a bit more adapted to the surroundings than me and some of the other horses. I wonder if it is because of the Mustang instinct in her. I am so proud of her. I can't wait for a real mission, but none go out and get hurt, please. I will get a good picture of her in her packs for all to see. She has muscled up over her shoulders and her butt. She looks a lot like her dad right know. This Sat we get our Cert and hopefully are beepers. I love this mare!!!
