It's been a long time since I've posted! I'm also doing the TIP program. I picked up two mares at the Asheville, NC, adoption in the middle of April. My first mare went to her new home today! The second mare is being a little more difficult. Here's a few pics The girls first day home Bebe's first saddle Psycho's training Bebe' at her new home!

Hi Amanda! How is Tesoro doing? We've been missing you but I can see that you've been really busy. Bebe and Psycho, hmm wonder which one is being a "little" more difficult? Congratulations on doing something great for a couple of mustangs who needed a break in life. Bebe's new oner looks thrilled. Who else is that dragging a lead rope in the background?

Tesoro is just as amazing as ever! I'll post an update on him in a separate thread, lol. He's my pride and joy. My father-in-law has a paint mare he wanted a baby out of (to keep, not to resell), so we pastured her with T-man for about a month. Guess we'll get her checked here in the near future and see if we have a Kiger/Paint baby on the way for next year!
Bebe's adopter was with me at the adoption, and she picked her out for me to do in the TIP program, so she's worked with me the entire time until she was ready to take her home. It was a perfect situation.
The red/rabacino mare is a little more testy. Someone I know wants her, but she doesn't have the pen/fencing requirements for a newly adopted one. Turns out she was a return to the BLM. Not sure why, or what they did to her, but she definately has issues. If I pressure her too much she rears and strikes at me. She leads and ties like a pro, but she's sooooo sensitive about being touched. I think whoever had her before kept her stalled too, because she has bad habits. She chews the wood, paws, and paces. I haven't exactly decided on a name for her, just been calling her PsychoPony, lol. If anyone has any name suggestions, they are more than welcome! Hopefully I can focus all my time on her in the next 2-3 weeks and get some real progress from her so I can send her to her new home too.

Oh, and the other mare dragging the lead in the background was just a hitchhiker, lol. She stayed at my place for a week while her adopter finished her pen, then went on home. She was a big 5 year old mare from Wilson Creek, NV.

Amanda, Your are awesome! This program is a real benefit to the mustangs and to perspctive owners who want mustangs, but can't do it themselves. Thanks for all you do, Lisa
