I'll take a look, but was told long ago that a foal's gut was only able to absorb large cells in colostrom for six hours.

Dianne, I really liked your question so I took a page out of your book and emailed the company with your comment. Here is what they responded with.....
Dear Kelly, Your recollection of foals only being able to absorb large molecules during the first day of life is accurate. However, Re-Borne is much more than just IgG (the fraction of colostrum that gives newborn domestic animals passive immunity via immunoglobulin absorption) Re- Borne is sterile, whole, concentrated colostrum that has numerous other constituents that promote healing of tissues, removal of intestinal pathoogenic bacteria and depletion of endotoxins. Appetite stimulus and factors related to gut function are driven by colostrum far after the initial absorption of immunoglobulins shortly after birth. Growth and muscle developing hormones are present at enormous levels in colostrum and are readily absorbed and utilized by all growing animals throughout life! The property that separates Re-Borne from all other colostrum products is the fact that Re-Borne has been collected, frozen and sterilized before any of the natural bacteria and potentially damaging infectious agents can proliferate. This gives you confidence that you are guaranteed a high quality colostrum and that all of the constituents in it are still bio-actively intact. This colostrum has never been heated or dried which denatures and deactivates many of the smaller, delicate proteins. In conclusion, yes, large proteins are not easily absorbed in mammals past their first day of life! But Re-Borne is so much more than just that and is useful for many other applications besides immune function support. Should you have further inquiries please feel free to contact us at Re-Borne. Sincerely, Steven C. Allday DVM

Talked with my repro vet today and mentioned this product...she said she is actually ticked that this company - who she views as good - is toting this. Colosterum can only be absorbed the first 48 hours - the first 12 the most important. After that, the stomach cannot utilize it and put it to use in the body. The only benefit would be a good source of protein...

I was curious about this stuff (I did see the show) ..because they almost put this off as a fountain of youth or cure all. Like all the TB prep' farms are using this product and the western world needs to catch up. I have no need for the product to build up my youngsters, I am in no rush for my kids to mature, no futurity horses on my farm. I was more interested in the helpful properties for senior horses. But I am willing to wait it out and see if it is really all that.
I mean you learn something new everyday, so I hate to say it does not work at all, but I would like to see more ...maybe some case studies.
