Momma is due June 5th but is shaping up early. Maybe that is a good sign...usually she is late and always has girls; could there be a colt in there?!?!?!?!!?

Milk thick and still yellow, boobies at maximum density! Ph levels still high and calcium still how - however, Momma gets her milk in, all her levels get to where they need to be and then she foals within 24 hours. I am thinking tomarrow night as long as her milk changes tomarrow...

Well....we'll either get a red dun or a dunalino from this pair - not much of a choice. We were saying if we get another dunalino colt like Fabio, we'll call him "Ditto"!

My friend has a now 4 yr 1/2 Sulpher colt named Ditto. The BO stud got into the yearling pasture and no one thought he nailed any of the filly's...OPS... He got his name because it is almost an exact copy of his mama (PMU paint/draft/ rescue)

Wow, really nice angles on this girl Michelle. Desi did a great job for you...again. Most foals look all folded up and sunken in. Not this girl! Can't wait to see more pictures. Looks like you are being blessed with lots of possibilities for the maternal grandfather effect in years to come.

Thanks Dianne...she's a nice looking filly for sure. We did not get our typical laid back QH cross foals this year...Fabio is just a handful and sensitive and this gal is fiesty as well! We had a long night when she was born because she would get under by the milk bar but just lick the teats and not drink. Usually I can help the foals out by letting them lean on me for balance while they are figuring things out or guide them under there. Not this one! She was having none of it and wanted to do it all on her own! I finally had to milk the mare some, syringe some milk on the fillies tongue and then squirt some back over the mares teats - then she got the idea!
She hardly ever lies down and is constantly on the go. Yesterday I only caught her lying down three times only and even then it was not for long. She is up and busy with lots to do I guess! She is a week early and her respiration is kind of high, so I am watching her closely. She should be resting more especially because we are already in the 90's here. I soak a small towel with cool water and spray it with peppermint and lavendar oil then wipe her down with it and wring it out over her back and neck - which she enjoys!
