Equines are amazing animals, even when their bodies are ravaged with hunger, they retain their noble look. Under all conditions they carry themselves with pride. I look at the five and six year old studs up for adoption, they are thin and rough and scarred and they have such a look of rugged beautiful nobility. They really draw on your emotions and excite your imagination.

I completely agree! The 7 year old guy caught my eye, and i've been battling myself as to wether or not it's a good idea to bring home a 7 year old wild stud. His eyes, his gorgeous long forelock, his regal posture.... *sigh*, he's everything I picture in a Kiger stallion.

Oh yes I did go take a look at all the horses there I really like the grey mare of course a non-Kiger. But I have to agree the older stud is a handsome man. It is hard to say just how easy he would be to deal with but if you have some experience with Mustangs under your belt I would not be frightened of adopting this guy. I worked with 2 studs age 4 adopted from the wild when I was a teenager (I almost forgot about that, happens when you get older ) I knew a gentleman cowboy that wanted to get a couple wild horses brought two home. i was the crazy horse loving girl that would ride anything and work with any horse it was my job to gentle them to human touch then once they were to broke to ride exercise them every day. I really never even considered the fact they were studs I just rode them and worked with em' like they were horses. One was gelded before being trained to ride as he was small, the other was a big drafty type paint. I know it's crazy but the thought to keep him a stud I rode him for 2 years, When he started acting herd sour they had him gelded. You have to remember this was back in the old days and the two horses were delivered in the back of a truck with side boards. The cowboys gentling methods were a bit old style as well. Keep Mustangs tied to a fence and hand feed and water them they were not to be released until you could approach them with out them pulling back and brush them all over. We have come a long way in training Mustangs these days, thank goodness.
