Does anyone have any info on how many horses were turned back? I heard that both the last roundup and this one there were gate cuts. What this means is that the Kigers are usually rounded up, carefully evaluated and the best turned back. A gate cut means they loaded up the number of horses they wanted and whatever was left-over was turned back loose.
I also heard that one outstanding stallion was pulled out of the holding corrals and is going to be turned back...

The numbers I have, which are by no means "official", are 38 horses at Riddle and 74 horses at Kiger. I hadn't heard about the stud being turned out yet.

If those numbers are even close to being right, I am very excited! Thanks for sharing info and for putting picts up of those little Kigers you'all are taking care of! That is so great of you!

Those are the numbers from the BLM, so they should be right, and are likely a few low since some seem to hide at every gather. We saw some in the wild a couple weeks ago: There are also some videos on my site under the "BLM Pages" and then under "In the wild!"; they are of the Kigers too. I would love to see more people's wild horse pictures. I love those and am quite honestly looking for one I might be able to use for art work
