Hello My name is Nancy and I'm from the Netherlands. I have 3 horses , Beauty , Balki and Naranka. Beauty (27) my first horse is part Frisian / part Welsh pony , I bought her 19 years ago . www.mijnalbum.nl/Foto-7Q37AWXL.jpgwww.mijnalbum.nl/Foto-F34KDJLV.jpgBalki is my 15 year old Shetlandpony , I bought 13 years ago for Beauty . He's a funny little character. www.mijnalbum.nl/Foto-ZTF8W6NR.jpgwww.mijnalbum.nl/Foto-8Y3WO3QU.jpgNaranka (8) is my APHA mare , I bought as a little filly . I saddlebroke her myself when she was 5 years old and we both love trailriding and NaturalHorsemanship (parelli) . www.mijnalbum.nl/Foto-V4LIKT4V.jpgwww.mijnalbum.nl/Foto-47NC4UTC.jpgwww.mijnalbum.nl/Foto-BIRLWR7U.jpgSo what is this dutch gal doing on a Kigerforum ? Hoping to make a dream come true . Within the next couple of years I 'm planning to breed Naranka to a beautiful stallion ...... a Mustang . Especially a Kiger . I'm looking for a very healhty stud that has strong legs and feet , is highly intelligent and has lotsof stamina . A stud that hasn't been living in stables for generations , under blankets with iron underneath his poorly feet . A real horse , A Kiger Mustang . So here my search begins ........... The first Mustang I really loved was El Barroco from Mandi Hickman . A beautiful perlino stallion . Unfortunately I lost track of him , I can't find anything about him anymore on the net . More recent I started to collect more info on Kigermustangs . I love this Iberish type of mustang . Up until this moment I have found 3 stallions I really love . Steens Vaquero Kiger Diamond Rio and Charro . My biggest problem of course is the distance between the Netherlands & the USA . I know that there is frozen semen from Rio available , but is it affordable to get it over here ? And what about Vaquero and Charro ? Is there a possibilaty that these horses can be a stud for Naranka ? I need your help .

Welcome Nancy! If you find a vet there who does lots of AI with frozen semen they can advise you best. I don't think it's so very expensive to ship the semen, its an overnight FedEX or DHL package, just like any other package and is shipped to your vet. The expensive part is the vet visits to make sure that your mare is in exactly the right part of her heat when the insemination occurs. We have frozen semen for Chinook Canyon as well.

Welcome Nancy! Lovely horses you have! Dianne summed up the AI thing well. FYI, my three stallions, My Kiger Tiger ( dun ), HS My Kiger Kodiak ( grullo ), and very soon, Fuego ( red dun ) are available for shipped semen as well. My, what a decision you are going to have, with all the great Kiger stallions out there! Kim

Great to have you here, nice horses. My hubby used to be a Level 3 Parelli Instructor back 10 years ago now.... I think it is great you want to have your mare bred by a Kiger. Some things you want to look into is shipping requirements in your country. It is my understanding that shipping semen outside the US is a big project. The stallion has to be quarantined for a set number of weeks; his semen tested for many things including diseases and then tested for freezing/thawing quality. Also, the mare has to have what is referred to as a "number 1 uterus", meaning she has to have a very receptive/healthy uterus. Plus many mares reject frozen sperm due to the chemicals that are used. So, don't give up on your dream!!! Check with your vet and find out what is entailed. There are alot of really nice Kiger stallions you can choose from! You can also check out this site where you may find lots of helpful info: www.equine-reproduction.com/board/messages/board-topics.html

Welcome, Nancy. You've got great taste...Rocco was stunning! He used to live here in WA state, but they relocated. He was siring some very nice sport ponies. That ridiculous FUGLY woman attacked the owner from her blog, unfortunately, and before long she was no longer to be found online. One more reason I do not like Fugly...

@michelle That link is very usefull , thanks . I will not give up my dream ! I'm not in any hurry so i'll figure out a way to realise my dream somehow . I have a dutch vet and a belgium vet (I live only a few minutes from the Belgium border) , I will ask these questions to them soon . By the way , is your beautiful Charro an option ? desperatehorsewifeRocco is a fairytail horse ! It's just a bit sad I lost track of him . But what's that about a FUGLY woman ?? Not even my very old dictionary knows that word (solly I'm dutch).

Hello Nancy and welcome to the Kiger board. It is wonderful that the Kiger breed is sparking interest in Europe. Your horses are very sweet. I especially love Balki. He looks as if he is a real character. Michelle and Dianne basically covered the information you will need to start your first steps to realizing your dream. Michelle, great link, thanks for the information. As for the words "fugly" you will not find it in a dictionary. It is a made up word that suggests a negative reference to something or someone. In this case it is used as a derogatory reference toward a person. We have two stallions in Canada. The first is a grullo stallion named Shelby and the second is a red dun named Doc Holiday. Unfortunately we do not do frozen semen at this time but hope to have that service offered soon. If you would like to take a look at Shelby's page, you can find it at www.canadiankiger.com/shelby_pedigree.htm I am still working on pictures for Doc's page. Good luck with your search, and NEVER give up on your dreams. Nothing worth having is ever easy. Kelly

Yes, a derogatory word this particular woman uses on horses and owners. She has a blog on which she posts "Fugly Horse of the Day", and Rocco was her target a year or two ago. Unfortunately, she's got such a huge following of people with a pack mentality that once someone is targeted by her as being less than brilliant in the breeding horse game, life can become unbearable with emails and nasty comments.
So...I refer to her as that FUGLY woman, simply because that's how she talks about others. I'd never heard of the word until I saw it on her blog.

It would be fun if it was done in a humourous way, but she doesn't do it that way. The world has enough mean spirited people, and clueless aggressors.

Hi Nancy--Welcome! Your horses are lovely!
I thought there were several Kigers that went over to Europe--maybe Sweden?--a few years ago. I would imagine they had both mares and at least one stallion.
Does anybody know more?

Karisma Kigers has some info on Overseas AI shipping on their website under the stallions pages. It does look very involved and pretty pricey =( www.karismakigers.com/Stallions.html

So that fugly woman kinda bullied Mandi off the net . What a sick and stupid thing to do Oké , I'm very curious about those european Kigers . I know there's one young colt in Germany www.classic-kiger-mustang-ranch.de/unsere-pferde/tucker-of-the-lighthouse.htmBut doesn't importing frozen semen from for instant Germany or Sweden require the same as from the States ? kigercatI know this site , that shippingprice has already shocked me And yet , I still want a Kiger ! A few minutes ago I read the pros and cons of the kiger breedSo much of what I've read there about Kigers , fits my pony Beauty so well . To me , she's is the smartest horse I have ever seen . She has always been an alphamare with a huge personality . Treat her with respect or she won't do a thing for you . My Painthorse Naranka is the opposit , she likes everything & everyone , ,has a huge will to please . The sweetest and kindest horse you can imagine . Off course this is all a very good thing , I wound't trade her for any other horse (not even a kiger ) but I love a bit more personality .
