We caught 4 horses today, to go riding, and put them in the round pen to wait while we hitched the trailer, and loaded our gear. I turned back to look at them and one of the older mares, Conchetta, was standing in the center of the pen making one the younger mares circle, turn, stop, go, etc. Around and around Conchetta drove her. And she had decided to teach the lesson to just one of the younger mares. The other two stayed quietly out of the way. It looked just like she was being me, round penning a young horse! Actually, maybe it means I am doing it correctly, since I look just like how she was doing it, and I'm sure she knows better than I do how to communicate "Horse" didn't have a camera handy, but you can all imagine... It was so cool to watch!

That would have been great fun to watch, and informative too! Hope that happens again some time where you can record it

You know what they say- Mimicry Is the Sincerest Form of Flattery. That must have been fun to watch.

Sandy did the same thing to Steve Holt! the first time they were turned out together...and without a round pen. Steve Holt!, being the big, pesky 3 year old he was, thought it'd be fun to push around poor little Sandy. I don't know how long that lasted, but when I returned a couple hours later, Sandy was standing in the middle lunching Steve Holt!, who was dripping wet.
When Steve Holt! saw me approach, he breathed a sigh or relief and headed towards the gate. Sandy said no way, pinned his years and shook his head, and back went Steve Holt! into the circle routine! Sandy made him do two more laps before he let him off the hook ;D
