I just recieved news this morning that we have lost another great horseman Jean-Claude Racinet.
Jean-Claude was known in the US for his clinics on the French Method of dressage, jumping and as being a proponent of "Riding in Lightness". He was the author of several books including "Another Horsemanship", "Racinet Explains Baucher" and "Total Horsemanship".
He was a contemporary of the late, great master Nuno Oliveria. He was an Olympic gold medalist . Before moving to the US he was the French Calvary instructor at Samur.
Jean-Claude was an excellent teacher and always enjoyable to visit with. He will be sadly missed.
Hopefully this is the last terrible news to effect the horse world that I'll have to let folks know about this year. It just keeps getting more devastating. I'm getting to the point where I dread to check my e-mail.

Another tragic loss....what talented horsemen we are losing and not many ready to step up in the ranks of equaled caliber, IMO.

Michelle,
I agree. There are some really brilliant horsemen out there but I don't know as anyone is quite ready yet to step up and fill the shoes of those we've lost.
