I am proud to say that my old girl "Baby" is in tune-up training! ;D I went to see her today( 1 week check-up) and she has been doing great, she seemed healthy and happy. Trainer saddled her and showed me what she is able to do...needless to say i was really impressed with what has happened in only one weeks time. She was easily picking up correct leads, crossing streams, opening gaits and closing them too, also chasing a hurd of really furry funny looking pack mules! This is all stuff that i really thought i would not see her do or even knew she could do.She is a small horse and the guy who is training is real long legged, so she looks even smaller...it was so funny to see her hurding up the mule with this guy ontop of her making lots of funny noises to get them moving out . I really wish i had my camera. I also sent my little filly "LuLu" to the langley's last month for some "baby" training so did so good...i am also really pleased to see what the gal has done with her...my husband even commented yesterday how different she is since she came back (much more respectful). Maybe after all these years of feeding my girls i will finally get to ride again!!!!I can hardly wait I am SO exited to start riding again and hit the trails.

Well on saterday i took my mare on a real long trail ride...about 12 miles. We rode in some stuff i would have never dared to ride before....she is still at the trainers so the rides are also to help build MY confidence...the trainer gave my lots of tips and we had loads of fun. We rode up and down lots of steep muddy slopes and racing in a meadow. I t was real great it has been raining REAL hard all week and i hope to get back out to ride a few times late this week before i have to take her home. I have to say i am sold on big long yellow rain slickers!! they kept me dry and then when we stopped to rest the horses and a huge rain storm moved in ...they kept the saddle dry!!! i LOVE THEM.

Not much worse than a soaked saddle. Any pictures of her at the trainers?

update - i have hauled her twice to my girlfriend house about 25 min away and she has been doing wounderful. have not been riding as much as i want ...but i will take what i can get. my girlfriend has a VERY large indoor arena and loads of trails. the indoor arena is great becouse she is not so good loping in a huge open field at home by her self(she is all over the place with all the wrong leads). my gal friend has owned horses for over 40 years and is always blown away with my girl Baby. i have also ridden her at home some .but its not as cool as with friends.....my hubby has cut trails all over our proptey so i have trails to ride at home so that is neat. i an hoping that with my four day weekend coming up i will get to bo some riding. my trainer has some killer trails to ride but he is finnishing up his bronk riding rodeo season ,so i will have to wait till he is done to do the crazy mountain riding with him and his wife.
