I just love your mares and Am VERY excited to see the Chilli foal. Looking at the pic' you would think Chilli' is working on how low can you go...LOL ;D Contora is a very cute Paso' she looks like a butterball. Thanks for the update in photos of your mares I never tire of pictures of pretty ladies.

What's the rule again about mares carrying low? Is that for a colt? They are all beautiful, but Nesa looks amazing.

Yeah, Chilli makes me nervous each year - I think of how in the world can that foal climb up and out of there! She will not be happy when that foal gets weaned this year, as she goes back under saddle and hopefully we can find her a forever home....but she LOVES being barefoot and pregnant!
Supposedly, low and back is a colt, high and forward is a filly...looks like alot of colts, huh??!! Chilli has had 8 foals so far, and only two fillies, so my guess is a colt anyway. Momma has given me ALL fillies (4), though she did have a colt on her when I bought her. I was hoping for a filly with Morgan and Contora, but both look like maybe colts. Nesa is carrying so high, that my guess is filly; Sage carried exactly like that the first two fillies we had, then dropped quite a bit last year with Hawk.
Thanks for the comment on Nesa, I just think she has turned out so nice. I was hoping to replace Charro some day with a colt by him and Leza, but Nesa may be a better choice...

Charro and Teanna would be the perfect match to replace him...but Nesa would do a great job too. Is Leza bred for this year? Contora looks like a super dark buckskin. Is she?

Well, I have to agree with you on that one - you wouldn't want to trade something for her?!?!?
Leza is not bred for this year...after the feeding feasco we had with the organic feed last year, she did not show any good heats after she foaled. I am only breeding three mares this year and am on the fence about breeding her to Charro or to a Lusitano (stud fees are bargins this year, hard to pass up).
Contora is actually a bay, she has a thick, black dorsal so I am guessing sooty gene. I will probably wind up with with a dark grulla. She also has the rabicano gene, which did not show up until this year - pretty heavy roaning going on.

Nesa is nothing to shake a stick at...she has blossomed into a fabulous Kiger Mustang mare. I am very impressed with her development. I have no doubt she will have a fine Kiger foal for you. It should be interesting to see if this time around Sycha' gives you a Pinto foal. It is always fun with the spotted horses you never know, when they are not homozygous.
