Lee sent me an e-mail alerting me to some new art. I cried the instant I saw it. It sure says it all! I absolutely love the riders face and body language. Everything about this little gem appeals to me. It sure looks like Dianne's photography and Smoke! Isn't it amazing that we can entrust children to a 1000 lb animal! Connection! Linda D

Yes, this is Smoke and was painted from the picture I took. Stefani, age 9, was giving her younger sister, Becca, a riding lesson on Smoke. I think he enjoyed it as much as they did. Stefani would ride him around the pasture bareback with a halter and two lead ropes. He is so great with kids! Here is the photo

Dianne that is an award winning shot! It captures it all! The relationship between the children and Smoke, the confident older sister, and Becca is in pure glee. Her whole body is in the moment. I love the dangling feet. Smoke sure appears to be enjoying his job and his friends. The colors are wonderful and the lighting is magical making Smoke glow and looks almost surreal. Even the colors they are wearing seemed to be in on the artistic plan. I LOVE this photo and Lee's wonderful art. I sure wish that I could afford to buy it.
I have a picture that will be in my minds eye forever. We gave my daughter a pony for her third birthday, named Angel. One day I found Angel laying down napping out in the yard. Lisa, age 3, was laying on Angel"s back with her arms and legs dangling on either side her head on her neck and our Irish Setter puppy was cuddled up against to the pony too. All three were sleeping. And I did not have a camera with me as we were just moving into our house. It is a cherished memory but a wonderful missed shot. I sure am glad that you had your camera to capture this precious moment!
When I got Angel I prayed before I went to see the pony. All I knew was that she was a white Shetland pony. I wanted to somehow know if this was the right thing to do. Buying a pony for a 3 year old, Hmmm? Right after I prayed I thought, wouldn't it be cute if her name was Angel. After checking the pony out I asked her name and the man said, "Angel" and I knew that she was the right one. There was nothing that Angel would not do for Lisa, except work in a ring. She loved the trails. Linda D
