Thanks for sharing the pictures amd giving us a heads up on how the adoption went at the High Desert Museum. I am glad that a lucky 6 found wonderful new homes and a new home for the Palomino Mustang as well. I am sure the others will find new homes via the internet.

Were you able to get any better photos of the 7 yr old mare?
That's too bad that they didn't fetch better prices!

hi all, Well, I needed more horses like I needed a hole in the head, but ever since seeing the red dun in the injured pen in November, I have wanted her. So now she is in my round pen. Her name is Hannah. I also came home with an "impulse buy"....the black mare Lily, and her 4 month old grulla filly Annie. Lily is 7 and only 13.3h. She has been in foster care since November and has probably put on close to 500 pounds. She had looked like an emaciated yearling when she went into foster care. She and Annie are both halterbroke and quite sweet. Hannah is very personable and lets you pet her head readily, takes food from your hand and already loves grain. She did decide to take off her halter within 24 hours of arriving home though. Suzy, the 7 year old mare was nice.... a tad slighter in the rear than in the front, and extremely alpha. She spent all day Saturday running the 3 year old around, kicking and biting and just generally being bossy. Hannah just stayed out of the way. Both of the other mares were adopted in November but apparently turned back, as was one of the yearling colts. Another of the yearlings had the hernia and was not available in Nov. Hannah and Lily were both in the injured pen in Nov and were not available. BLM said they had planned to keep Hannah as a promo horse, but decided finally to offer her for adoption. I was amazed that I was one of only 2 bidders. The young man who got the other mare and foal and a yearling colt ( the one in the pic whose head is down and you can't see him ) and I didn't have any bidding war at all as we wanted different horses. Well kimk..had I won that darn lottery you just might have had some competition...you just got lucky I am glad you were able to provide homes for those 3 Kigers. That little black mare sounds like a good Kiger pony candidate. I liked her little filly and I am such a sucker for auctions. WE need pictures ;D
