Dino has been selected to participate in Craig Camerans Extreme Cowboy race at Albany Horse Expo! It should be a very exciting weekend, as Kevin is also showing Princess for the Extreme Mustang Makeover and Showing Dino in the Kiger demonstration with KMA. Hope some of you can attend. WE need all the support we can get! Lisa

Do you know if they are going to tape and air the Extreme Cowboy race on RFD-TV? Let me know if they are and I'll start recording them all....just so I can see Dino do his stuff! Great luck to Kevin, Dino, and Princess.....Hope she finds a great home at the EMM.....

Oh that is absolutely awesome ;D I am an avid viewer of the 'Extreme Cowboy Race' and love Craig Cameron. He is on my list of "Clinics I would love to attend" When is this event?? I am thinking maybe I need pop' on down there and watch Kevin in action on both Princess and Dino' if I am not otherwise previously occupied.

Wow that's wonderful! Good luck to Dinao & Kevin. It would be great if you guys actually make it to the video shown on RVDTV. Even better yet, make it to Craig's ranch for the finals!
Several people that I have known over the past years have been accepted to compete at the expos (Equine Affaire Ohio) but never made it through the finals to the Regional Finals before invitation to Craig's ranch. One guy that I do know did make it to the Ranch and became very disillusioned, as horsemanship is the theme but not necessarily the goal, if you know what I mean.
Regardless, knock 'em dead Dino!

Quick update on the ECR, I e-mailed the promoters asking if Dino has to be stalled with the ECR horses or can he be stall with the Breed Demo horses. Here the e-mail I got from Equine Promotions who are running Albany Expo.
No horse participating in the Extreme Cowboy Race or the Extreme Mustang Makeover should participate in a breed demo. We feel that gives that horse an advantage of additional arena time at the expo to get acquainted with their surroundings.
I am leaving now for another event in KS and will be gone for a week. If you have additional questions I will answer when I return.
I sent an e- mail to them and Craig Cameron, Asking them does that mean I can not do both, and if I had to choose between the ECR and the Breed Demos I would pick the Demos. I have not heard back from them yet on this.
What gets me is how do they know if someone hasn’t already been riding in the Expo arena getting their horse or horses acquainted with the arena? (I only been there twice so far this year)

Kevin, please don't pick the breed demos over the ECR!
He will be representing Kigers and mustangs in gerneral in the race. Just have it announced during the breed demo that he is competing in the ECR. If you get pulled early, you can then take part in the demos as planned. Just think of the potential national publicity for the Kigers that you could earn! Maybe you could stall him with the breed, but not do the demo? Hopefully they just come back and say you can do both with him.

Oh, how ridiculous! But then, we're talking the same promoters who won't let our horses on the grounds until the day of the competition, leaving those of us with a long haul wondering just what the heck we're supposed to do. I mean, really...I've got an 8 hour drive and just when is my horse supposed to rest up between unloading and being drug into a conditioning class? I emailed to see if there were places to lodge overnight nearby but they never responded. I'm just thankful I'm not the one hauling from Idaho or Montana! And like walking into the arena two or three times is going to give you a huge advantage. You're right...there are horses who will be local that have been in there before.

Oh, I forgot to say that Keith Danielson also made it in. I wonder if Kitty Lauman applied? She was considering it last I heard.

I heard today that John Sharp, Kitty grandfather pasted away. He was known for the Bambo Pole method of gentling. He will be missed.
