Thought I'd start a thread and see how everyone else is fairing in this tough economy. I know several on here are having tough times and are having to sell there herd. Im hoping it will pick up this year, but only time will tell. Before the horse market can pick up, the economy has to pick up. I hear Obama talking about another stimulus package - which is fine, but we need other options than that. With the fuel cost down (THANK GOD) that has helped out a lot but I still see people struggling. It's tough when you have to get rid of the things that make you happy and brings some sort of relief in your life in order to keep your home/car/etc

Everyone needs to hang tough through 2010. 2010 is when the next group of arms mature. That means another whole wave of foreclosures because people can't pay the extra amount. I'm hanging on somewhat. I'm transitioning to San Diego. We're going to be renting a property where I can keep Firefly right on the property. That is going to help a whole lot.

Oh yea' the economy hit us alot harder then I thought it would. We have gone from dinner out a couple times a week to a box of mac and cheese, metaphorically speaking. I have learned to go back to being a creative cook and my daughter has learned books are fun when we could no longer afford DirecTV. It is not all bad I am lucky with the help of friends, we are able to keep our horses. We know things will get better, we have been this poor before and worked our up we can do it again. It is just a matter of getting by day by day, trying not to get depressed THINK POSITIVE...I keep riding and do alot of wishful thinking, it does not hurt to dream.

Well...lets see. DH is still employed, and I'm still a bum (of the saddle variety). Nothing much has changed. Our son is out of college and searching for a more permanent job, but currently still has his at Circuit City (so far this store is holding on, which I think is due to our strong Canadian market here.)
