Sundance is by Steens Kiger out of Kiger's Mestena. He was the sire of my girl Firefly. He unfortunately has passed from this world. But he has left his mark on the Kiger breed as may on this board will attest

Sundance was a beautiful stallion. He produced so many great foals and his bloodlines offered so much to the Kiger world. He will be greatly missed.

The day Sundace passed was a very sad day for me. His owners, Roger & Denise DeBaere, were my "Kiger mentors" so to speak. They took me under their wings (Denise mainly) and helped me along in my choosing each horse I bought. Of course, I fell in love at very first sight when I met Sundance and Dundee many years ago and Sundance's image still takes my breath away. He was AWESOME to say the least, a super smart boy who loved to show off and entertain. He knew when a crowd was watching and always aimed to please. I feel very fortunate to have his son, The Sundance Kid aka "Sunnie." He is a treasure much like his sire. Sundance has been cremated and Denise has him in an urn. It was too hard for her to let him go.

My first foal was an in-utero foal out of Sundance, that was the only one of his kids for sale! That foal was Cricket. Denise and Roger were good friends at that time. We went and looked at Dundee together and I was with them when they bought him. Sundance was amazing and made a huge impression on me.

This is my 5 year old colt, by Kiger Sundance, Kiger Sundance's Bolero. When I bought him as a 2 month old colt, Denise said he was more like Sundance than any other. Bolero has a huge personality like his sire and loves to show off. In my opinion, Lonestar, Chica's sire, favors Sundance even more. The filly and mare on the thread, New Member, pgs 3 and 4, are pics of Chica. Chica is a Sundance grandaughter, out of my mare Springtime. Firefly is a full sister to Bolero. Sundance has numerous foals, and is a campion several times at Kigerfest. Kevin, Lisa, I think that Bo and Dino have similiar builds. Bo is too fat in this photo! Linda D

Sundance is why Bolero is not a gelding. Bolero deserves the chance to pass on the Steens Kiger/ Mesteno/Sundance bloodline. The previous photos was right after his first ride, at three years old and after he rubbed his mane short. His forelock is now down to his nostrils. Linda D
