I know, many of you are used to yearly doses of LOTS of snow, but here in Vegas, it's a bit of an oddity to say the least. We had about eight inches of snow at our house and four days later, a good bit of it is still on the ground! I've attached two slide show links to my Hondo dog loving the snow. The picture of two people and a Hondo, I'm the brown haird gal behind the Hondo dog.

no I did not click on them ...with my slow dial up, video and slide shows take so long to load up. I wait until I got time to leave my computer on and leave it alone for awhile.

Cool! Hondo has so much personality, is that the snowman he's destroying? Good at catching snowballs too. I loved the pictures of the mountains with all the snow! Leesa, you've got to see these... And the pictures of Firefly were just breathtaking, what a wonderful girl she's grown into. That's one nice mare. The video of you working her cracked me up. At the part where you are working her with the rope to desensitize her she's looking into the camera and I know she was saying "I don't know why she does this, but it makes her happy". I had to laugh. Nice job with her!

You're right Diane! she was just going... okay so it's a rope, am I supposed to get excited about this? oooh, theres Dad, what's he got in his hand? doesn't look like a carrot, but he always seems to have some, maybe it's just a strange looking carrot... If I give him my puppydog eyes, I bet I could get him to give it to me!
The reason for the flag was she was very afraid of anything red, I can't understand why... so I got a red flag and worked with her with it. Now she'll walk right by big red pickup trucks without a problem. She's very ridable and I have ridden her down a street with cars passing her by from behind... without a problem.
I had her up next to the large arena one day and a very loud noise came from somewhere nearby. A big draft horse spooked and she spooked everyone else... except for Firefly.. who just stood there and stared at the rest like they'd lost their minds.
I went out on a trail ride with her one time and the fellow in front of me was riding a horse that spooked at everything. The first time he spooked, Firefly did too, as she was still very new to trails. Then each successive time after that she spooked less until after about the fourth or fifth spook, she just stood their patiently and waited for the other horse to compose itself.
I'm going to be doing a LOT more ground training with her. I want her to feel safe in every situation I can put her in safely. I would LOVE to go to the next Kigerfest!!
I do agree with you, she's gorgeous, she has her daddy's face and her mom's rear end. She's so nicely put together and I feel so lucky and somewhat unworthy of her friendship and loyalty.

OH.. and yes... that is the snowman Hondo was pouncing to pieces with so much vigor. We had a hard time getting the thing made, he kept biting chunks off it and trying to steal it away!

As always, I love seeing 'family photos' of Firefly! She is a lovely mare, indeed. Looks as though she has her mama's common sense and composure, along with that rear. Bolero also has Sundance's head and Springtime's butt and that same take it all in stride mindset, with lots of brio to boot. Chica got Spring's butt and head, is tall with an elegant body, and is very responsive. The family traits are very strong in all of them. Thanks for sharing.
Hondo is a hoot, what an absolutely great dog. She has a great mind too and must keep you laughing and proud all of the time!
I love your artwork too! Beautiful
