I found this website while surfing..... take a look at it... www.wilthew.com/KINGSOWNTOO/index.htmlThey list their stallion as being a "Kiger from the Sheepshead HMA"?? A quote from their site "To my knowledge Badger is the only Kiger stallion from the Sheepshead herd." Does that not make him NOT a Kiger Mustang?

Kigerfan:
Without getting into a political timebomb, all I can say is that it would depend on what registry you choose to submit your horses. Until all the Kiger registries get together and decide on one definition of the "Kiger Mustang" we are going to continue to have a difference of opinion.

This would be the outcrossing I spoke of in the 'proven' thread.
Personally, if I were looking for a stallion to breed my mare to, if someone had a mustang that fit the physical description and was a talented performer to boot, I'd select that stallion over a Kiger who has the looks and heritage, but not the physical talent. Providing, of course, that the other stallion had been accepted as suitable breeding stock within the Kiger organization. Since the Kigers were originally handpicked from different HMAs anyway, I just don't see it as that big of a deal.
