I am offering Cherokee Fantasia a 2001 Kiger mare from the 2003 adoption for sale (private treaty). Cherokee is 15+H light grulla mare with a white star and one white hoof. She has extensive bicoloring and stong distinctive striping.
Fantasia was gentled and started under saddle by Kitty Lauman soon after her adoption and then lived in Georgia as a broodmare. She developed some health issues while in the South, and was shipped to Michigan in 2007. Since she has been here she has had no issues even on our hottest days. I suspect that allergies caused some of her health problems, and highly recommend that she be allergy tested.
Sweet is the best word I can think of to describe Fantasia's disposition. Though she can be difficult to catch in a large field, once you have her she is very careful of your personal space. She loves to be scratched and will stand for hours if you have the time or patience (once you have earned her trust).
Judy Yancey has generously offered Frozen Semen from her Kiger Stud Cherokee Warrior to the purchaser of Cherokee Moonbeam. Shipping charges would still apply.
For any questions please email me at zephyrcreek@yahoo.com or call call 810-614-3498 and leave a message.
I will post pictures of her this weekend.

Fantasia's new home is up in the mountains of New Mexico where she will be away from the heat and humidity that seems to bother her. She did very well in Michigan, but I think she will do even better in the Mountains. I suspect that she has some allergy issues that are agravated by the humidity. Now she will be in an evironment much closer to where she grew up. She is going to a very experienced horse person, and they work with very experienced Mustang people. They are hoping to be able to use her for light trail riding, but if not she will be content as a symbol of the American West. He also has a Andalusian stallion and may consider breeding her to him in the future.
