This spring I decided to make fence repairs and got myself a few bags a brand new insulators (those white things that stick out from your posts that hold the electic tape on your fence). I went about replacing all missing or broken ones. After which in a few weeks I noticed a few of the new ones already broken or the fronts broke off. I could not imagine what my horses were doing to keep breaking insulators. A few times I found the tape on the ground and I am sure someone did something silly and yanked on it and broke an insulator. But everyday I was finding a few more open or broke. Until one day I just happen to be out with my camera taking pictures of Fernando when I glance back and see this.... a very bored Princess chewing on insulators and breaking them off. She is not a clever Kiger but a Pintaloosa with apparently nothing better to do. I am now replacing all my broken chewed on insulators with a new type she can not chew on with out touching the tape itself and getting a good ZAP! These young horses do keep me on my toes with challenges

Caught! That's funny. If there is something to get into, someone will do it. - Linda

HA! Funny and yes definately bored. It's funny what horse's will get into. Just like kids, if something is there, they are going to nudge it, test taste it and simply check it out.

Kind of like an extreme sport: Can you bust the insulator without getting shocked or busted?
