Just got this in my e-mail box from a Tiger Horse breeder. Just thought I'd pass it along and note more economy troubles with horse owner/breeders. I doubt this has so much to do with Obama like they say, rather just what is happening in the market place in general.

Obama Sale
The economy has had many trial and tribulations over the past few years. Our breeding program has withstood all of them, with continued sales and the ability to sustain and expand our program.
We do not have faith that will continue to be the case under a presidency of Obama.
Therefore we are drastically reducing our herd of horses, hoping in this way to be able to continue our goals within the conditions that we believe the upcoming 4 years will place on our country.
All of the horses listed below will be sold to the highest offer made by December 5th. Payment to be made upon acceptance of offer as purchase price, if we consider your offer a good one - the horse will be withdrawn from the sale and you have made a purchase. If not accepted immediately, it will be posted as the current offer on the horse and if no other offer tops it by December 5th then your offer will be accepted.
Included in sale are proven Broodmares, Weanling gaited mules and Weanling gaited foals, ApHC Registered mares, Gaited Geldings undersaddle.
NO offer will be refused, except to a higher offer. Therefore all horses will sell.
Transportation is the responsibility of the Buyer, as is the cost of coggins and health papers. Horses not picked up or transported after 10 days from purchase will begin to pay board for up to 30 days. All horses MUST be removed within 30 days of purchase.

Well, you can blame someone else for your woes I guess. I hear a lot of doomsday comments from Republicans. Personally, I think he'll do a great job, he has a positive attitude and is smart. That remains to be seen of course, but this is a democracy even when your guy doesn't win.
Its hard to tell from their website what they are doing exactly. Crossing Peruvian Pasos with Appaloosas and saying that they are the same as the Jennet from the 1400's? From the number of horses they have for sale that have no color at all I think they would have done well to get some of the no spot Appy's that were at the Burns corrals last adoption. Either they have a poor breeding program or they are keeping the horses that have color and using this as an excuse to unload some horses.

Well said Dianne. Funny I was thinking exactly the same thing. I was rather disappointed at not seeing any true "Tigers"of color for sale upon checking out the web site. As for the reason behind the sale, one thing is for sure, the president-elect certainly didn't create the situation the country/economy is in now, others did. Maybe it should be called the Bush & Associates Sale instead. I'll suspect their candidate of choice didn't win the election and this is just one way of trying to put blame onto someone else before he has even had an opportunity to get his feet wet in office and prove himself.

I found the opening sentence to be quit interesting as it was Bush who put the economy where it is today, not to mention that Obama has not even taken his Presidential seat yet.

I wish the sellers all the luck in selling their horses. Hopefully they will find the perfect homes for all that are for sale.

I think a lot of people are anticipating the worst when it comes to their taxes, and that the comments aren't supposed to reflect where they're at now, but rather how dismal they envision the future.

Bottom line to me, in this case and many others, is that they're over breeding a horse that is not quality and there likely never was that big of a demand for.

From what I saw (or lack there of) on their site I would have to say your not far off. They are mentioning Tiger Horse but all the offspring have got almost every breed but Tiger. It was (at least for me) quit misleading and disappointing, to say the least.

Needless to say the most important thing here is the hope and wish these horses do find good homes!

Hopefully the horses do find good homes, the bid prices are staying quite low. I still wouldn't purchase one of them. This 'breeder' seems to be very good at producing 'mutts'. Why a breeder would do this with so many horses already available looking for good homes is beyond me.
