This is not my ad, but one I found on Craigslist. I'm still feeling out the protocols here on this board as I am a new member so I don't know if this is appropriate or not to post. If a moderator feels it isn't, please remove with my apologies. However... I just felt so sorry for these guys. They need some serious groceries! portland.craigslist.org/wsc/grd/823178991.html

Poor babies....I hope someone goes to see them and recognizes them for diamonds in the rough....Wonder if they are Kigers, and if so domestic or BLM bred....If someone goes and checks this out let me know what they think!

they are 3/4 kiger horses and domestic bred. have not had anything done to them but halter and some petting. they adopted a mare at the adoption some time ago and she was pregnant when they got her, a 1/2 kiger filly was born, then they adopted a stud some time after that and I believe the filly and the stud got together and had the 2 that are for sale. The mare that had the 2 for sale is believed to be 1/2 kiger due to her being conceived on sheepshead prior to adoption. I believe that is the story. Please correct me if Im wrong, but maybe they will find good homes.

angelsdream, do you know the people whose horses these are? If you do know them well enough, you could perhaps tell them (gently of course) that if these guys have a little training on them, get cleaned up, and they retake some better pictures, they could up the price a little and these guys will have less of a chance being sold for meat. I mean... even the BLM starts bidding at $125 and that's for horses with nothing done to them. Not trying to be a butt-in-ski, but thin horses + no training + cheap 2-for-200 pricing listed on Craigslist, just screams "Hey meat man! Come get me!" to me.

I agree waterbearer, if they could have done some more handling and feeding, they would be able to get better homes for them. No, I dont know them. I feel sorry for those horses, but would make a great project for someone and Im sure in the end they would have themselves a really great horse.

The filly has been sold already, so only have the 3 year old stud colt now.

Hi there Angel:
You are on my wildhorse list! Thanks for the info about them.....Now let's hope Jacqui and Stacey make it happen! Can't wait to see the end result....Hopefully the colt finds a new home as well! Maybe Stacey can take some new pics for us......and we can get someone else interested in the colt...

I see. Perhaps they have a much better chance then. That's good to hear. IMO it's still not very enticing as ads go, though.

BTW, I just noticed the "cruel" listing someone put on Craigslist, and I just wanted everyone to know that was not me.
I am curious about the weird circumstances (or at least the appearance of weirdness), but I would not post something like that on Craigslist until I knew what I was talking about.

Waterbearer, I'm sure its not the same Josh. The Josh Dianne mentioned is most likely the one who lives out by the HMA's in Southeastern Oregon.

While it is sad to see horses in such condition, I am happy to see the owner at least making an attempt to sell the horses and being straight up honest about the horses abilities, to provide them with a better home. I have been witness to many others that would hide them out back for fear of what folks would say, rather then admit they need to be sold and provided a better home. Your correct that we don't know the situation and I think it is unfair to attack the owners. I do hope that the colt soon finds himself a new owner to better his life situation as the filly has.

Jacqui is trying to get her. Stacey has the place (she lives in Portland) to house the filly until J can get her moved. Stacey is also contemplating the stud colt, if I read correctly.

I see. Thanks for the information and the clarification. Would love to hear that the colt gets a good home too. This economy sucks. In a similar vein... Anyone know anything about this guy?

Thanks for the correction, it was Ron Harding. I get the two confused.
Its sad to see people letting their horses go this way, this guy needs some work and a great home.
