Well, it's been a busy three weeks but I think we are well on our way to achieving our goal of finishing up the initial building interiors. There was a lot to do, and still is. With fixing up, painting and minor construction work we have three of the nine buildings off to a good start.
We have been busy planning the events for the 2009 season including the all breed horse challenge. We are also working on a C&W music festival and rodeo, Renaissance fair and jousting competition with 2 competitors from Sweden, 2 from Germany, 2 from Canada and 2 from the US.
I took a bunch of pictures but have been so busy I just can't seem to find the time to post them. I will see if I can manage to do so soon.

Finally I managed to get a few moments to upload some pictures. Hopefully I will have a chance to upload more as time permits. This one is the main entrance at the top of the entrance as you come in. This is the entrance to the offices and parking areas. This one is of the main horse barns. Right now it is full of antique dealers but can double as a horse barn for some of the events we are planning.

Congrats,

That's what I am hoping for.... The more "Kiger Awareness" that can be developed the better. That was the whole reason for developing the All Breed Horse Challenge. As there is no purpose in entering my Kigers to compete against themselves, my only other option is to develop a show that is not breed specific to allow the Canadian Kigers to compete.
Thanks for the compliments, it is a long way from being anywhere near completed but I am sure going to have fun developing and creating new ideas. Truth be told, I am anxious to see how it will all look when it is done too. LOL

Well, it's been about 2 months since my last update so I thought I would let you know what is happening. Most of the work has been focused on preparing the buildings for the up coming summer season. Lots of planning and preparing has kept me busy, busy, busy and we are looking forward to the grand opening this spring.
I am hoping to update the web site soon and it will include a list of some of the events as well as more detailed information on the All Breed Horse Challenge. We are hoping to see some of the eastern States Kiger owners out here to help support and promote this wonderful breed. For those that are interested in participating or just learning more about the event, please feel free to email us at kelly@wildhorserun.com

Since the last time I posted here, a few new opportunities have presented themselves. About 2 months ago, we had an opportunity to purchase a 300+ acre facility so we decided to sell the other property we had and buy what is presently known as Cayuga Motor Speedway. It also included a 38+ acre parcel of land right across the road where we have decided to hold our horse shows. This new property has allowed us to expand on our goals and will be a huge asset to promoting the Kiger breed in the future. The property has an international standing and we hope to use that to both present the Kiger to Canada as well as support the US kigers all at the same time. I hope to have more pictures of the property in the next week or so and will post them asap.

Oh how exciting...I can not wait to see pictures of the new facility to be.
I love cars almost as much as I do horses...will you continue to run the Motor Speedway? or has that long been shut down.

Actually we have 6 races planned this year along with a whole bunch of other things. My favorite though will be the Kiger related events. I will be posting the schedule on the internet in the next few weeks.
